Can´t turn ERG mode fully off during workout

Hi,
I have issue that even if I set ERG mode to off during my workout it still heavily affects my cadence. As an example if I hit a steep incline of 15% during workout with ERG mode off I might need to go down 1-2 gears to maintain my power during the workout. If I exist out of the workout I would have to drop down to lowest gear to just be able to continue up the incline.

So the short question, how do I kill ERG mode completely during workouts are there some other settings I can change?

I use latest version of Zwift with Tacx Neo 2T smart trainer.

Did you find the solution? I am having the exact same issue on my NeoBike. It seems like ERG is off when riding flat areas, but I don’t feel the resistance change when the road stars pitching up 8-10%. I am still spinning in my large cog with small cassette… :frowning:

Haven’t tested it fully but I think I may have a solution.

I noticed that if I start a workout from the main menu the ERG never fully turns off. But if I start a ride first by selecting a route and then select a workout, the ERG seems to stay off.

Need to test this theory out when I have more time, but hopefully someone can also try to see if this theory holds up.

I tested the above theory by starting a free ride first then starting a workout. It failed. Even when the grade was pitching up 7%, I was spinnng at the same cadence and power as I was doing in the flats. I noticed that in the companion app, I see +/- sign with “incline” written when I disable ERG mode. I am guessing that when you disable ERG mode, it just puts the trainer in a set incline rather than in simulation mode where the trainer changes the resistance based on gradient.

Yes, that’s correct, with the only exception being that if it’s a free-ride section within a workout then that will be in sim mode. :+1:
