As I gazed upon downtown Watopia I thought how I would like to get a view from the top of one of those skyscrapers, to see the whole map laid out before me. But how to get up there? Zwift could give us a stair climb, encourage people to crank up the incline on the treadmill (or stair stepper?), and let them run up the stairwell to the top of the building. A quick and easy graphical background to make, and to alleviate the repetition there could be different artwork at every floor. With the artwork Zwift could have sponsored runs with a theme, give prizes to allow people to get their name at a floor and maybe make their own artwork (or choose a pre-existing painting). Give the KOM/QOM of the hour their name in lights at the door leading to the roof. At the top you could allow people to walk around and pivot to take in the view, or put a running track up there. But I have to admit that I have yet to try Zwift on a treadmill, so what do you Zwift runners think of the idea? I am a fan of the stair stepper at the gym, but I’ve also noticed there usually is not a lot of competition for the machines so maybe I’m weird that way. But it would be a different physical and mental test.
