Bin the “Time Trial Bike detected” What is the point of it [don’t you know what bike you are on] and WHY push you onto a Zwift Steel if you don’t answer this annoying question before it times out? Two of us have worked really hard to get the Pinarello Halo bike to find out that it’s classed as a TT bike and now we’re condemned to this constant message.
The point is to alert inexperienced riders that they are on a bike that doesn’t get any draft, when they are joining a robo pacer.
Okay, I can understand that for inexperienced riders but I’m still suffering it at level 100 and you still get the message when you teleport to a friend. I program database and It’s s simple bit of logic to limit this to the first few levels.
sometimes people also forget that they used a TT bike in an event and didnt swap back
Then just put up an advisory message once that they are on a TT bike with no response required. Why switch them to a Zwift steel bike which they are highly unlikely to choose if they’ve got better bikes so they’re going to have to stop and change anyway.
My guess is they created that behavior before they were tracking your most recently used bikes. Now that they have a list of your most recently used bikes being tracked for the bike selection UX they could probably change this behavior to swap you to your most recently used bike that was not a TT bike rather than the steel frame.
My suggestion would be to a) move the auto selection to the ‘Keep bike’ button and b) in the garage, allow the user to select their own choice of road bike which the ‘switch bike’ button would put the onto I.e the user consciously instigates the switch rather than being taken from a Big Mig halo to a zwift steel because the failed to react in time. On day one the default road bike would be the Zwift steel.
Yeah, I guess my assumption is the scenario doesn’t happen enough for Zwift to go and create a new UX setting for it. But who knows.
Aaron: I agree but now we have lots of riders upgrading [a number of which are TT bikes.] Plus I and doubtless others saw Big Mig as a pacer and decided to go for that Halo bike which now turns out to be a TT bike.
I totally agree. I wouldn’t mind the message if it would go away without changing anything. I only need 18 more hours on my tt bike but i feel for those trying to upgrade the spada, 200 hours to stage 5
