Beyond the Badge

Once passed level 100 and knowing that ZHQ will bring in some new kind-boggling scheme (when, say, level 150 is a thing) that ignores our millions of banked XP and rewards those new to the platform, we have to wonder why badges are even worth it any more?

Over L100 and you ride a new route and get extra XP? For what rationale reason?

Who are Zwift targeting the platform towards? I don’t get it anymore. I used to moan that it was too gamified and now it seems the opposite.

Any views and ideas to keep the motivation up and not to swap platforms?

Ride on!

Dave.

Race the mult-day events. Chasing Tour is great. :+1:

Great racing. Great vibe.

Thanks. I can’t do Zwift racing. It does my head in. I don’t know why? I do the odd one and then regret it. I must say, I’m a huge fan of the pacer bots and doing my own sessions, as I feel the need.

If I was going to race, I’d use something like MyWhoosh where the verification is arguably far stronger.

Ride on.

This is what I do most of the time - and try not to look at the list of nearby riders so you don’t see the ones that are 40kg or less zooming along at world-tour-pro speeds.

Chris - I’m amazed to see anyone outside of a bot ride doing anything other than 1.9 w/kg in workout mode.

It’s so quiet on Zwift. Adding a (who gives a flying fig arguably the worst team in the WT) Pinarello bike and some cracks etc and the real pull for me was gaining levels and the spin and win type stuff. It kept me coming back.

It’s a shame as clearly there is an issue with subscribers. The numbers, for the inward investment and outward marketing spend are pretty awful. It worries me that the product is under threat.

You know that in the northern hemisphere most people are riding outside at the moment, right?

Our community race set a new record this week. 151 starters compared to previous best of 89. Must have been some bad weather somewhere

Some parts of southern hemisphere too. We had a few days of near 30°C.

While I do ride Zwift Monday to Friday for time constraints I try to avoid using it on weekends - a real bike is always better.

Great going.

You could start a new account and begin the journey all over.

Or go to MyWhoosh for free and start again there? This is the issue. Zero reward loyalty and workarounds.

@GPLama You influencers really need to give ZHQ more stick on this. The September badge - really? Above L100 and what’s the point? However, Spin and Win or whatever it was called was awesome.
