This morning after I updated Zwift my avatar wouldn’t move in the game and none of my smart trainer wattage or cadence would register despite everything being connected.
Did anyone else have this issue or know what might be causing it?
As a result, I did my workout on Trainerroad. I’ve been able to transfer my workout data from zwift to Trainerroad, but I haven’t figured out how to transfer the data from Trainerroad to zwift. Or if it’s even possible. I like to keep track of my total time and stress points which subsequently aren’t accurate now with this workout not being loaded on to zwift.
The only way I could offer suggestions would be if you explain what you run the game on, what the trainer is, how you pair the trainer. There are no generic answers that cover everything.
There should still be Watts and cadence visible on the pairing screen even if it’s lapsed, so it’s puzzling if that was reading zero. There could be more than one problem going on here.

Another possible cause is simultaneous logins from two different computers. Today - you logged in from an iPad when you logged in from a Pixel 7. Is that because you were trying to troubleshoot? Don’t do that. We recommend you uninstall the main Zwift app from the Pixel if your iPad is your preferred device to eliminate this risk.
One other thing for mobile OS users: After you save-and-exit (or trash-and-exit), force-quit the Zwift app to shut it down completely. If you simply swipe Zwift into the background, it continues to run in the background.
Lastly - in regard to your question about about syncing Trainer Road to Zwift: see the instructions here.
That can’t be it because my subscription is still active until January 25.
Zwift wasn’t working for me this morning so I did my workout on the Trainerroad app. That workout data synced to my Garmin and Strava, but never showed up on my zwift account. So my zwift companion app shows that I didn’t ride today when I did. I wish there was a way to transfer the data from Trainerroad workout to zwift so zwift could update my training score and time on the bike.
I used to ride zwift on my Chromebook for months then it suddenly stopped working on that so I switched to my mobile, then upgraded to the iPad. Now it’s not working on the iPad. I’ve kind of given up which why I cancelled my subscription thisorning after this incident.
Back to your original question though, if you shut down the TrainerRoad app or any other app paired to the trainer, start Zwift, pedal the bike while you’re on the pairing screen, are you seeing any Watts or does it remain at zero? That’s the test you can use to decide whether to keep troubleshooting before subscribing.
I came back from a weekend away, and the same thing is happening to me. I login, on my iPad (I deleted the app from my phone) and registered that the app and my trainer are communicating via Bluetooth. But the avatar won’t move, and I’m not getting no information about cadence or anything else. I noticed in front of me a lot of other avatars also on the side of the road not moving. So I wonder if they’re also experiencing the same issue.
