Hi, I just learned that you’ve given up on pairing the Apple Watch with Zwift. I have two requests concerning this:
- Please support the Apple Watch in a future release. I really don’t want to buy yet another tool (heartbeat rate detector) (and direct connectivity with the Apple Fitness thingy would be cool, too).
- Please remove the Apple Watch apps for the Zwift and Zwift Companion apps. They install on the Apple Watch, but since you’ve pulled support, they don’t really make sense. Thank you!
In December they said a new Apple Watch pairing experience was coming. It seems to have been delayed. In the mean time you can try using the Heartcast or Echo app to get your watch to broadcast HR like a normal HRM. I have tested the free version of Heartcast and it worked for me.
Have you written to Apple requesting that they broadcast HR just like every other cheap fitness watch/strap?

Just submitted the feature request to Apple. Nevertheless, isn’t the heart rate available in the iPhone’s Fitness app (when the phone is paired with the watch) - can you get it from there? (A bit roundabout, for sure) Cheers, Karl
They said they’re working on that. In the mean time, use an app like Heartcast to turn the watch into a normal HRM if you want to use it. Or use a $30 HRM and it will be an even easier experience.
