Apple Watch not connecting? "No Signal"

I’ve been using Zwift for more than four years now and while the experience has improved and the app has gotten better. I STILL CANNOT RELIABLY PAIR MY APPLE WATCH. Is this just technology that man cannot handle? Will Elon get to Mars before this is fixed? What is the problem? There’s no pattern to knowing when it will work. There’s no steps to prevent it from not working. It’s just voodoo. In all sincerity— WTF?

Have you tried using a 3rd party app such as Heartcast or Echo to turn the watch into a normal HRM?

Why should I have to do that? Why wouldn’t the most popular indoor cycling training app support the most popular smart watch? Does the CEO of Zwift have a problem with Tim Apple? Just admit this is the most absurd problem for this app to be having for YEARS. If I let a bug like this slide in my code ii would not have a job.

These are questions I can’t answer, being a random guy who just wants to help people get in a good ride with the minimum amount of frustration. It’s OK with me if you’re annoyed and think they should do better. All I can offer are workarounds.

Could be an Apple issue…after all they like closed systems.

Heartcast works well.

Ride w GPS tracks heartrate IRL without any issue. Has done so for years yet it means an unrevealed mystery to zwift. Zwift has permission to read it from the phone, how hard is that to access?

It’s late in 2025, my Scosche hr needed to charge so thought I’d try my Apple watch. It’s late 2025, and this still doesn’t work. At all. (Except it did that one time before… Fool me once…)

Upside it’s taken so long to go through various device reboots trying to get the watch to work that my Scosche charged enough for the now-much-shorter ride I have time for…

Apple Watch hasn’t been supported in Zwift for a long time. Some people find that it still works for them, while others find that it doesn’t.

It’s really not Zwift’s fault. Rather than forcing every app developer to write something for their API, Apple could just broadcast HR using open standards like everyone else.

If you end up needing to use the watch again, try using the Heartcast or Echo apps to make it work more like a normal HRM.
