Hello. I have a Zwift Ride/Apple TV setup with the Companion App from my phone. For the last couple weeks I am getting Apple TV drop outs and loosing all sensor data and connection to the Zwift ride setup at about 25 minutes in pretty reliably. However, it only happens when I am also streaming audio to Youtube Music. Once it happens I have to go in and manually repair everything after I disconnect Youtube music. This setup has worked flawlessly for months. Any insight would be helpful, the rides are all but ruined after an incident and riding without music blows.
Use the Apple TV for Zwift only and run your music app on your phone. Never put the Zwift app in the background on any mobile device or Apple TV while you’re using it. Always force-quit the app after every time you use it.
Correct, I’m only running the Companion app and Youtube Music on the phone. Zwift is ran from the Apple TV, if it wasn’t clear. You have to have companion app for all the bluetooth to Apple TV connections and I don’t have to but I always leave it open and running on my phone.
maybe something is causing the phone to lose connection? You could test by only connecting the trainer and ride controls directly to Apple TV and see if it lasts longer than 25 minutes, then you might be able to narrow it down to something on the phone?
Could be something happening on the phone or the device running Zwift or your home WiFi network. Which model phone do you have? Which model trainer are you using? The trainer will determine if you have other pairing options. Are you also pairing Zwift controls like the Play or Ride or Click controllers?
