Today, we introduce the long-requested multi-length crankarms for the Zwift Ride smart frame.
It is available as an aftermarket upgrade in the Zwift Shops starting April 16 in these regions:
UK Zwift Shop
EU Zwift Shop
US Zwift Shop

For those looking to replicate the fit of an outdoor bike, these cranks provide options for 160, 165, 170, 172.5, and 175 mm lengths.

Q: Who is this for?
A: The Zwift Ride Adjustable Cranks are an optional upgrade for riders who want to fine-tune their bike fit or need specific crank lengths based on a professional bike fit recommendation.

For most riders, the standard 170mm crank length (pre-installed on Zwift Ride) will work well. If you experience discomfort while riding, we suggest consulting a professional bike fitter for personalised advice.

Q: We have a multiple rider household. Should we get this?
A: Your Zwift Ride does not require that you install the adjustable crank arm just because your household has riders of different heights. The majority of rider variations can be addressed with the saddle height and bar reach adjustments that are easy to make with your Frame Key.

Q: Does Zwift Ride come with Adjustable Cranks as standard?
A: No, the Adjustable Cranks are not pre-installed, they are an optional upgrade. Zwift Ride comes with standard 170mm cranks, which are suitable for the majority of riders.

If you choose to upgrade, you will need to install the Adjustable Cranks yourself or have them professionally fitted at a bike shop

Q: Does installation require special tools?
A: Yes. We recommend most riders visit a local bike shop for professional installation.
This requires a square taper crank puller and the expertise to use it. If used improperly, this tool has potential to irreparably destroy aluminum threads. This may leave the original cranks impossible to remove from the frame without expensive remedial work.

Q: I have a square taper crank puller and am a confident mechanic. Anything special I need to know?

  • The Ride chainring is mounted to a proprietary bottom bracket, not to the drive-side crankarm. Pay attention to the Left / Right markings when installing the new cranks as they look identical.
  • You’ll need the following tools. Full installation steps are included in the quick start guide.
    • Square taper crank puller
    • Flathead screwdriver
    • 8mm torque wrench (capable of up to 45Nm).
    • 8mm hex key
  • Prepare the crank puller tip for a square taper spindle. A larger diameter tip for pipe-style spindles may damage the crank.
  • Install the cranks with their pre-applied grease.
  • Finish-tighten the bolts with a torque wrench to 45 Nm.
