Not sure if this is the correct forum… I am a recent new user of Zwift (and think it’s brilliant) and am running Zwift (for cycling) on a Samsung tablet so an Android system. I am 99.99% sure that until recently I was able to select ‘End Ride’ (if for example I was following a Robopacer as part of a warmup) and be returned to my home screen so I could then join a race. This functionality seems to have disappeared and now when I select ‘End Ride’ I am exited from the game and have to go through the select user / connect procedure.
Your experience was the normal behavior on mobile devices for years, then in September they started rolling out a Return To Home feature. It seems like they are still working out the kinks in it.
Thanks Paul, that’s useful; strange thing is that I believe it WAS working but maybe that’s the nature of implementing changes i.e. progress may not be linear
Any chance that you’ve also logged in to Zwift on a second device? And do you force-close the app after each use? (Is this a thing on Android devices? I know it helps on Apple devices.)
No, I’m not using any other device for the game but may be logged into Zwift website on my laptop and then the Companion app on my phone. I’m not sure what ‘force close’ is but certainly on an Android system you can close any running apps (same process as a phone running Android where you can review recently used apps and close whichever you want to or all of them). I will try closing the app after using it next time in case that helps. Thanks!
Hey all, thanks for the reports. The common thread for all of you is a Samsung tablet or phone, and we are investigating why Return to Home isn’t triggering on your devices.
We’ve made a change that we hope will resolve the issues we’re seeing with inconsistent R2H experience. Please let us know what experience you get after your next few rides. This will help us figure out if the issue is fixed, or if we need to continue looking for a solution. Thank you!
Hey all - we’d like to ask you update to game version 1.105 when it’s available to you this week. This update logs what’s happening with more detail. It will not immediately solve the flaky return to Home Screen behavior, but may help us figure out how to get there. TIA.
