Can some explain to me what 20MIN by my result means? I have no idea what to make of it.
Without seeing the screen, that would be 20 minute average power - my best guess.
I think the reason might be that you topped 500w for 20 minutes.
I watched one of your videos and it appears (I’m not 100% certain) that you may be using a spin bike (possibly along with a third party app to convert the power?). If so spin bikes can be fairly unreliable and others here are going to recommend that you investigate the use of power pedals or move across to a smart trainer.
I hope you are enjoying your Zwift progress but I fear your Zwift Games challenge and journey to Cat A is likely to receive negative feedback from some of your competitors.
20MIN is a race disqualification for unrealistic power. It’s usually caused by a bad trainer or equipment malfunction.
It was 501w for 20 mins.
I dont know if someone has manually applied it (unlikely, as plenty of other ridiculous efforts in the Zgames events not been flagged) or if going over 500 for 20mins is an auto trigger.
Edit - Linking dodgy performances from this thread: DQ because of Watts or W/KG?
Its a 500w trigger for 20mins that sets it off. So feel free to do 499 for 20 & be fine.
I am running Favero Assimo UNO pedals which I was told are more accurate and reliable than a Smart Bike. My numbers are typically inline with everyone else’s but I did reach out to Zwift and Favero to make sure my settings are correct. I also recalibrated pedals.
Yea, I am running the Favero Assimo UNO pedals as my power source but something appears to off. This is the first time I have ran into this issue. I did reach out to Zwift, and Favero for the correct power settings.
Honestly, this is the first time this has happened. Hell, I was just trying to keep up with the rider who ultimately took 1st…but I still got dropped!!! I ended up getting 9th place(barely). Oh well, I reached out to Zwift to better understand if my configurations settings are correct for my power pedals.
Yeah, it could be you have a single-pedal PM, but app thinks you have dual-pedal PMs?
So the “Double Power” setting is OFF in the Assioma app?
As a general rule if you aren’t sure you have a 500w FTP, you don’t.
500w for 20 minutes is a huge number and not at all inline with a lot of people.
Power meter pedals are nice, but they should be a second source of power data to an accurate smart trainer.
Honestly Chris-
I’m just not into Zwifting or cycling enough to drop cash on a Smart Bike. Fitness racing is way more my thing. My knees can’t handle all the running in training anymore, so I got into e-cycling instead for my VO2 Max training. But as for going all-in? Power pedals are as far as I’m willing to go.
That is what I am thinking. Another part of me is thinking should I even care? I am just Zwifting to build my VO2 Max for my Hyrox races.
I just ordered an Ant+ dongle to just alleviate the problem all together. Documentation said the issue applies when connecting the power pedals via bluetooth.
Which documentation was that? Just curious! I can’t think of a reason why that would help but I’m not an expert on the subject of the Assioma pedals.
If switching to ANT+ solves the problem for you, you may also want to contact support@zwift.com and tell them you corrected it on that date and to invalidate prior PRs and results so you are able to race against your appropriate competition.
The Assioma pedals documentation. No need to contact support because if I previous results were a fluke, I will just start losing more and the system(racing score) will auto adjust. It’s not like I am racing in the elite group. No one who I race against is getting paid for it.
Your power was doubled. Change the settings by pairing your pedals in the favero assioma app.
My favero assioma unos work fine with bluetooth and I’ve never had a problem.
250 watts for 20min is still good though. A lot more than I could ever do.
