I race for 2 teams, so generally have to change my team tag every so often.

I have just noticed that, where I have raced under one team tag, then changed it after the event, for the next event, it has changed the team tag in the previous event as well, even though it was raced under another name.

Is there anyway to prevent this, eg by having a race league or series based tag?

Yes - if you change the tag on event page settings (event, settings top right, My Name) rather than changing your actual rider name in profile setting it only changes it for that one ride and the tag persists in the results as well.
