Hi, just wondered if anyone could help!
Trying to change my saddle from the one that comes with the zwift ride, to the one i use due to it being (for me), far more comfortable than the zwift ride.
My saddle is a specialized power comp 143mm, that is 7mm rails as is the requirement so it should go on fine.
However i cannot put it on the zwift ride.
I have also tried to get the original back on, and apparently it’s meant to ‘press down’ and slot in… but it doesn’t do anything of the sort.
I have read how to change the saddle on zwift support and followed the instructions, to no avail.
Anyone else had any issues and if so how did you resolve it?
I can answer my own question to it!
So to get it on, and secure it, i had to purchase some 7mm nuts, this allowed me to secure one side in.
And then tighten the nut up, and use your strength to push down (or pull the rail) to get your preferred seat over. Then at the seat is in place, remove the nut, and place the final bit on.
Hope that helps anyone who has also had the same issue!
I’m sorry to hear that you’re unable to change the saddle on your Zwift Ride. This is Monica from Zwift. Thank you for following the article on Installing a New Saddle on Your Zwift Ride.
Please note that our Zwift Ride saddle dimensions are 160mm wide x 245mm long, and it requires standard 7mm round rails remember that you don’t need to remove the bolt. For more information, please refer to the article.
Hi, i did post above to say i resolved it thankfully
Unfortunately the info zwift has for it isn’t too great (atleast i personally found) as it is a bit of a nightmare to change the saddle out, and that goes for the original zwift saddle too, to re-install that comes with the same challenges.
I found putting a 7mm nut on to secure it, allowed me to successfully push down on the other side to get the other rail in
Hello all. I’m writing because I recently obtained the Zwift Ride frame to attach to my Kickr Core. I was able to remove the default saddle and am now trying to install a new Brooks B17 short saddle. The instructions Zwift provides aren’t really helping me, at all. I can’t tell which direction I’m supposed to approach getting the rails on and am approaching levels of rage.
I’ve searched for a video that I could watch but have had no luck. Similarly I have not had any luck finding a photo guide.
So this article just breezes over the actual mechanics of how the new saddle goes on. This is the document I criticized in my post. Why isn’t there a video, for instance, showing how to do it?
I have the opposite issue. The OEM saddle is the oddly most comfortable I’ve found in over a decade and Zwift will not sell me an additional one to put on my outdoor bike. If you figure out a new solution, I’d love to buy your OEM Zwift ride saddle from you.
Thanks @Cam_Stark_PWCC for the solution to this problem!
I was so frustrated when arriving at the Zwift article that @MonicaP is referring to. It wasn’t working for me either.
I eventually managed to do it without buying any new nuts. What I did was tighten it with the original one, but at first do not inlude the right outer clamp. Then you can first tighten it with the left rail in.
Hi, I just mounted a different saddle and had the same problem until I figured it out. The saddle should not be mounted by forcing it on from the side! Instead: remove the entire locking mechanism except for the two inner parts where the saddle clicks into place. Rather than pushing it from the side, slide the saddle in from the rear. That way, it easily snaps into place without needing to force it. It took me 30 seconds to mount it this way.
What do you mean slide it in from the rear? Nothing has worked for me and I’m about to throw this entire bike out the window. It’s baffling that something as simple as changing a saddle would be so difficult. I’m actually just trying to put the original saddle back on because the one I tried to put on it didn’t fit of course, and I’m unable to get it to slide on from either direction. How did you do this?
Hey, im in the proccess to change the saddle and been fighting today too
First of all, rails should be 7mm rounded, anything bigger will not fit. The one i wanted to use has this “problem”, so i had to get back to the stock one.
Best way i found is to remove the bolt and keep the 2 inner pieces, then click one of the sides, and while holding, the other will fit with some pressure. Also you can try to slide the rails from the back of the saddle, it needs a little back and forth to make such “slide” but works too.
Im new to cycling and the rest of the adjustments were easy, but struggled on this one too, just dont give up
