Zwift Ride Cockpit, make it available seperately!

I’d like to be able to buy the Zwift controllers that come on the bike, not the current Zwift Play controllers. I tried those, but couldn’t get then in a position that allowed me to be comfortable on the hoods & be able to reach the buttons. I’d also like to use the tablet & phone holder, but if I couldn’t have that it wouldn’t be a problem.
Having the full shifters that come on the bike would be ideal.

Does Zwift have any plans to sell those as 'Zwift Play V2"?

I’m wondering if there will be a V2.

With them giving them out free with new trainers purchases now maybe they are clearing stock before a new version.

It would make sense to only produce one version that which ships with the zwift ride.

Hello @Peter_Hi

I was a Play owner who also felt that their position was un-ergonomic at first. I realized that’s because I’m in the habit of leaving my hands on the brake hoods, and the buttons are hard to reach.

That changed when I rested my hands on the “shoulders” of the drop bars. All of a sudden, the steering and shifting bars on the side were right under my fingertips, and the buttons on top were conveniently under my thumbs. Give that a try if you’re also in the habit of riding on the brake hoods.

I will note that your mileage may vary - the curves of your drop handlebars and the location of your physical brake/shift levers have a huge influence on how the Play controllers rotational and tilt positions. Your bars (and your hands) are probably different from mine.

There are no plans to sell the Ride controllers as a standalone item. As you’re aware (others are not…), they are different from the Play controllers, and are designed for use only with the Ride smart frame.

Never say never, but there are also no plans for a Play version 2 at this time.

Thanks for the reply.
I tried several different positions with the play controllers, but they interfered with my normal position. I use the hoods frequently, especially when I’m out of the saddle & climbing (I use the Kickr Climb & V6) I’m not going to change that just to use Zwift Play, I tried & couldn’t get comfortable
I don’t understand why the controllers that come with the frame can’t be sold separately, they don’t know what they’re mounted to. I suppose that people at Zwift are afraid of sabotaging sales of the Ride, I wish that they had thought in a similar way when deciding to not make the Ride compatible with the Kickr Climb.

Oh well, I’ll stick with what I have & maybe just buy a Zwift Click instead.
