After firmware update my Zwiftplay controllers no longer will finish connecting to Zwift on my Windows 11 computer.
I can go into the search screen and the controllers appear with a strong bluetooth signal. So it is clear the computer is establishing a bluetooth connection to the controllers. (They show up in the bluetooth settings also)
But after selecting each controller and closing the search screen and going back to the pairing screen, the controls box never gets past “connecting” and stays orange.
The trainer is paired via ANT+ which will not work. You must use Bluetooth to pair the trainer. I recommend removing the ANT+ dongle to test it. It’ll probably work.
thanks for the advice, it pairs without ANT+. I use ANT+ to pair a garmin heart rate monitor. It is without Bluetooth :(. will I have to buy a monitor with bluetooth?
No you can use it but you need to click on the power and resistance tiles on the pairing screen and choose the Bluetooth connections. ANT+ pairs faster than Bluetooth so it will typically win that race.
If you would like some advice about it here on the community forum, please share all the details about how you run the game, the equipment that provides your Bluetooth connection. Alternately you can contact support and work it out with them. There’s not enough information here to let me give any suggestions.
Hi @James_D
Shuji at Zwift HQ here. I’m able to see your server logs. For some reason on April 2, you added an ANT+ dongle to your computer, and a Favero power meter showed up too.. Why the change?
Your Power signal is paired over Wahoo Direct Connect.
Your Controllable signal is paired over ANT+ FE-C protocol Look at the Pairing Screen and you’ll see FE-C in the name of the trainer signal. This is how you’ll know it’s paired over ANT.
Once you get the ANT signal out of harm’s way, you can pair your trainer’s Power, Resistance and Cadence via WDC, then the Play controllers over Bluetooth. It should work the way it’s supposed to.
