Zwift on gaming consoles

It’s long overdue that zwift can be ran on a console such as the xbox series s which is a budget console / entertainment system that can definitely run it better than the Apple TV and isn’t exactly expensive when it comes to consoles. And it’s cheaper than using a laptop, iPad or pc.

Zwift already struggles with the current code base. Adding another OS simply can’t be a priority.

Zwift doesn’t seem like the most advanced game and would run more stable on console if they bit the bullet, my whoosh will beat them to it eventually as they seem to be the new people who are going to try change the game and be more innovative.

But at the end of the day, more people globally have a phone, or a TV with a smart device like an AppleTV.

Could the codebase be ported to modern Xbox’s? Sure. Easily in fact.
But then what, what does anything connect to?

Consoles use proprietary connections akin to bluetooth, but not bluetooth; nulling and voiding any effort. And that’s something that won’t change.

AppleTV’s are insanely cheap devices. If anyone is even contemplating cycling or indoor cycling, they can certainly afford an AppleTV. Though really; guidance to someone selling their “old” gaming PC, will be far and above Zwift’s needs for likely the life of the software, and far superior to anything like an ATV or other mobile device.

For a bit less than double the price of an Apple TV a xbox series s can run zwift at pc level performance where’s as the Apple TV runs it at its lowest and not reliably ? There is nothing around the same price as a series s that can run it as good without jumping to decent spec pc
