I’m aware and I watched yesterday, one official feed and zero other access to the race and zero analysis available is an interesting choice for the top elite race. This is e-sports you don’t need helicopters and motorcycles to be able to broadcast something for the public.
there’s that, but the athletes themselves don’t really put their own names out there much either. i have more strava followers than some zgp guys, and my claim to fame is a couple dozen strava KOMs and talking a lot of bull
Major miss by Zwift to not have an official GC standings page updated after each stage for the elite competition. Basic stuff like this demonstrates they still just don’t know how to run competitions. It gives the impression that Zwift Games was a bit of a last minute project that was incomplete. Most of the materials look to be slide decks that are just saved as PDFs but no true website for what they are pushing as a major racing competition.
So we know Freddie Ovett won the ZG Elite Climb race last weekend. What we don’t know are the full results nor do we know the times up The Alpe. Any ideas where we might find this information?
They do, it just takes a bit longer than a irl competion.
Every rider’s dual data is analyzed for accuracy before results are published as ‘official.’
They are “broadcast” on YouTube.
If YT is not available, it is unlikely that it will be broadcast on ‘cable’ or tv networks.
Nothing to do with Zwift, unless they pay a ton of money to be shown on tv.
I think it is shown on Facebook also.
“Yes we’ve verified everything is legitimate, no you can’t see it.”
Not even a ZwiftPower page to follow along the race with.
there’s no requirement to make any of it public in the rulebook, admittedly i skim read it a while ago so maybe i am just confusing it with the zada test, and no incentive to actually do anything extra. i certainly never got rewarded for doing that
if it isnt on the live stream then i can ask someone who was in the race when/if i get the chance. you could probably just find at least one guy who did live stream it themselves, if they were allowed to, and watch that
Yes, there should be a dedicated page with a breakdown of the results across the three rounds and the overall but …
Would it be possible during the “make up” weeks to have all of the stages available on any given day?
Right now I see Stages 1, 2, and 4 available only Monday - Friday, with Stages 3 and 5 available only on the weekends. Can we mix it up?
there was a website mentioned during the broadcast, I think it was zwiftgames.link/broadcast or something like that? I believe it had all the detailed info from each rider, not sure. I couldn’t get on the website when I tried, so maybe it was only active during the live race and broadcast?
What’s in the official rulebook is not my concern, the official rulebook also allows known cheaters to dominate the A category ZG GC.
I’m trying to point out that if Zwift wants there to be any hint of legitimacy to any of this that there should be more available for spectators. That Eddy guy who blasted through the pack to win never would’ve been caught had he not been so over the top with his cheat.
Like I said before it makes a lot of sense why Zwift lost the UCI championships.
you just wanna gossip about the duals man. i’ve been there. been wrong, too
No, I want to read other people gossiping and arguing about them
respect, haha. funny as that stuff is though, people just say whatever they want and whether it’s true or not, the perception from the outside becomes , and i remember this sentiment clearly because i held it myself right up until i caught myself doing it also, “what a bunch of b*****s”
Gardner did a 37:16 (an all time record)
Ovett had a 32:32 (just 5 seconds than the record of Osbourn 32:27 set two years ago)
Still not fixed?!
In the General Classification there are a few riders in cat A, C and D with 6(!) events taken into account and thus leading the board. According to Zwift Games FAQ only the best times of each of the 5 stages should be taken into account even if a rider did a stage multiple times.
What did I miss?
Tom
Good news everyone.
The results of the elite races are available to view on zwift and zwiftpower. You can find them by perusing the profiles of the Athletes.
Here’s the elite men’s climb championship on zwift:
And the epic championship on zwiftpower:
Women’s elite climb race is not on ZP at this time.
