The Zwift Big Spin [March 2025]

The Zwift Big Spin is back for a second year on Zwift. It’s your chance to RIDE, SPIN, WIN! Over the course of five weeks, we will host four stages that all end with a prize wheel (cycling only). This year, you can enjoy wins in both scheduled group rides and on-demand options!

Registration for The Zwift Big Spin opens February 24, 2025 @ 16:00 UTC and closes April 6, 2025 @ 14:30 UTC. The Zwift Big Spin will start March 3, 2025 @ 16:00 UTC and end April 7, 2025 @ 14:30 UTC. Convert to your local time zone here.

You will need to be on game version 1.84 for The Zwift Big Spin. Make sure you are on the latest game build. Click here to learn more.

The Zwift Big Spin will offer four stages with one ride distance per stage. During each stage and makeup week, events will be scheduled every hour. We couldn’t stop with just tons of great prizes, so we stacked each stage with plenty of PowerUps too, including improved drafting, cloaking, burrito, and more! Think of PowerUps as little tricks to help you break away—or catch up—with the push of a button on Zwift Play, a keyboard, or the Companion app. Click here to learn more about PowerUps.

The Zwift Big Spin events are not racing events. Ride them as fast or as casually as you would like! If you are looking to race, we recommend checking out Zwift Games.

We want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to complete The Zwift Big Spin! While group rides are more fun and bring you together with other Zwifters, on-demand rides allow you to participate on your own schedule. You can do on demand routes and gain campaign progress while doing workouts, meetups, or club events, as long as you complete the route. Each stage will be locked until the stage start window and will remain open through the end of makeup week. To learn more about what dates each stage will unlock, check out the FAQ.

By participating in on-demand rides, you will still have the opportunity to spin the wheel and collect those amazing prizes!

At the end of each stage, you will have the opportunity to spin the prize wheel. Everyone’s a winner! There are no guarantees on what you will win, it’s all up to chance! Land on the same item twice? Don’t worry, you’ll get bonus drops instead for use in the Drop Shop, but items featured on the spinner will not be added to the drop shop. This year, there will not be a kit unlock at the end of the campaign, each stage will have its own stage specific kit.

Didn’t get the item you were hoping for on the spin? You can ride each stage as many times as you like for another chance to spin the wheel.

Some of the prizes on the wheel rotate each week. So every week you’ll have a chance to score new items that are decade-specific! To learn more about all the awesome prizes you can win during The Zwift Big Spin, click here.

Not rendering well on chrome ios

Been scaled down since the '24 one, there were at least two routes per week last year, as per Eric’s article.

What an unimaginative selection of four routes for four weeks.

The Big Spin FAQ has this unexpected bit as well:

Q: I’m not seeing an earned unlock for Zwift Camp: Baseline. Where is my unlock?

A: No worries. Unlocks during Zwift Camp: Baseline should be automatic. If you completed the ride and aren’t finding your unlock, please reach out to us.

I can’t believe that these are the routes. At least add one new route like Danger Noodle or Jarvis. What a BOOOORRRRRRRRIIIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGGG event.

and without the shorter routes we can’t do the late join trick as much, part of the fun was seeing how many spins you could get in 30 minutes during the late join window.

instead you just get to the ride the same route 4 times in a week. Fingers crossed the zwift gods give me the unlocks i want. Bike, Hat, visor and headphones at a push then run away.

But still on average riders are going to have to ride each route twice to have a 50% chance of getting the bike.

Sure it will be popular though just trickier than last year with no late join spinning games.

Best bet will be to start earlier and ride the route yourself for spin one, trying to finish within half an hour of the event ride starting so you can still late join that for a 2nd spin.

I was hoping you would be able to spin for real life prizes. Oh well.

Fixed now. Thanks!

Late join one event, then do the route yourself, then late join the next event. 3 spins within 70-80 minutes

and we wonder why community events are dropping/poorly attended when zwift have a different “big event” each month

This is good, people will get to enjoy riding.

Late joining and sprinting to the finish just to late join again was some of the most enjoyable riding I did last year. Who makes the rules that determine what any of us choose to enjoy?

That was a whole lot of fun, agreed. Worked quite well standing in for my regular sprint intervals too, but was fun all by itself.

Zwift does, obviously - and must have decided change up the routes.

None of the routes are very long from what I can see. But it seems like it will get everyone riding for more time.

This makes it more of a challenge.

I’m not enthusiastic about the changes either.
Once I get the bike, I doubt I will keep at the big spin.
I appreciate all the people that joined my challenge last year, especially Nathan.

Don’t know about that. I rode a lot during last year’s event. Getting 3-4 spins in one go typically starts with riding the route, and then groundhog daying the last 1km.
