Zwift eating up all of my memory on my laptop

Last time I wrote in a state of excitement.
I apologize if that offended you.

Thank you very much!!
As you advised, disabling the video screenshot function in the settings solved it.
The 42-minute workout was completed safely.
It was simple but the most valuable advice for the past two weeks.

Hello everyone,
Thank you Paul for suggesting to turn off video screenshots. I disabled it, and I was thrilled when I got past the hour mark of my ride…which is where zwift usually freezes on me. I continued to do my usual 2 hour ride. After an hour and 40 plus minutes zwift just suddenly closed its self. So close to finishing my ride…so disappointing. Please let me know Gondaddy if you go for a longer ride and if you have issues.

ah… It hasn’t been a complete solution.
I completely sympathize with how disappointed you must have felt at that moment.
If any event happens to me, I will share it.
But I rarely ride for more than an hour.

I had the same problem after the July or August update and tried manually increasing the virtual memory, but it didn’t completely fix it, just delayed the program from crashing. Tried turning off the automatic screenshot feature as mentioned above and it didn’t crash during the hour or so of use just now, and the memory usage stayed at about 75%. Hopefully I won’t run into this problem again on longer rides, it’s really hard to have the program crash and not be able to record the data!

Having the same issue, have tried the same remedies. Memory use just keeps increasing until the computer freezes.

Just wanted to add that I currently have the same issue. When I started zwifting (6months ago) I used to run zwift on my 9 year old laptop (not a single issue) but since last month my new and my old laptop have freeze after RAM just being eaten by zwift. Currently chatting with support via email but if they cant help will probably have to move to a different cycling app.
Also if anyone managed to fix this issue would be nice if you shared, thanks!

Hi there,
Just wanted to help out here - I had encountered exactly the same issue on my DELL Inspiron. Kept using up to 100% of my 8GB RAM, and crashing. I added 8GB RAM and still that seemed to just give the app the opportunity to use all of that memory too! However, after disabling screenshots in settings and reducing the display quality to 720p (which I’m personally not overly fussed about), it appeared to use a less RAM whilst riding, and has stopped crashing mid ride and whilst saving. Time will tell if this has resolved the issue more permanently. I may acquire more RAM in future if issue persists. I’m not quite sure why it is using this much RAM, but I speculate it may be to do with the specific graphics card my computer uses using a lot of RAM for the game display. I’m not sure. If you’re in a similar position to mine and you want a high quality display, I suggest purchasing more memory than 16GB. Happy riding
