Zwift Companion v 3.79 [February 2026]

It was shared on Reddit yesterday that this is a known bug still being worked on. Other than that I don’t know anything about it because running is a waste of perfectly good legs.

Interesting. Perhaps sharing that here on the ‘Zwift Forum’ would be a good idea. (Of course, this is another longstanding ‘bug’. :man_facepalming:)

For street thieves and people who hate their shins.

Are we still discussing Zwift?

My screen keeps freezing after the latest update. I’m currently running Windows 10 on my computer any suggestions on how it fits the freezing issues. It always seems to happen at the 3 mile mark

Maybe this:

You’re posting on the topic for the Companion app, but is it the Companion app that is freezing for you, or the game app?

If it’s the game, which CPU and GPU models are being used?

Its the game app that’s freezing. The laptop i’m using is about 10 years old. I never had problems with the game until this last update.

Open the Windows System Information app and tell me the CPU model in it and I may have some tips

I have a good Zwift PC and still like the HUD on and also would love to have companion running in landscape on my iPad

I’m glad that someone on here finally gets it.

An iPad has an even bigger screen than my Samsung tablet so it would work even better.

Lol. People disagreeing with you doesn’t mean they don’t “get it”. That’s either arrogant or dim.

It’s not “finally” that someone has requested landscape for the CA.
This is an old request. From 2018.

Im running an intel i7-6600U CPU 2.5 GHz, 16GB RAM, Intel HD graphics 520 128 MB graphics card

The topic that @Nigel_Tufnel offered has the best available workaround. Try it and reply there if you have any problems. There are some comments from other people in your situation about how to get it to install properly.

100% agree here… the companion app is a great tool but is definitely not something that needs to be a ‘must have’ in any way whatsoever… I run Zwift on an unused gaming pc and have a 55” tv in front of me so I don’t need other apps to use this at all. Zwift companion app is good for after rides and other bits n bobs. Maybe would be good to access the drop shop and the garage but totally not bothered during rides and usually working too hard to type anyway!!!

I will try and make this as clear as possible so people fully understand a simple change, a change to the companion app that has no impact to existing users that like it the way it is already. You can completely ignore the change if you want to.

When you currently press what is currently effectively the “H” key in the companion app along the bottom of the screen (its an icon key) in the Map mode, all the text and HUD disappears from your 55” TV.

This is quite a nice already existing feature that allows a very immersive experience, especially on rides where you just don’t need the clutter.

What I’m suggesting is when you move the device with the App to landscape, when you press the “H” the HUD doesn’t disappear completely, it disappears from the main screen like a 55 inch and then reappears on the device with the App as an overlay on the current Map screen.

This feature would only work in landscape mode, your device simply becomes a smaller TV. the general layout simply will not work unless you move to landscape.

Your main focus is then the big screen with the occasional glance at the App for things like the elevation and all the information it currently has that is now on the App instead., send messages etc. the same other functions it has already and you no longer need to keep hitting the button to bring the information back on screen should you need it.

Some of the HUD would probably need to be compressed so you can still read it but honestly you don’t need the information of 20 riders on the right when the nearest 6 will do, after all something is better than nothing.

I think people are mis interpreting the words “Must Have” like you must have the App to even run Zwift. A “Must have” is something you end up using that you cannot do without and other people will decide the App has become a more useful “Tool” as you put it and decide they need it.

An example of “Must have” is your mobile phone, at one point in time you never actually needed it, there were landlines for phone calls. Things changed, you phone finally evolved into a tool that nobody could do without. The ZCA could evolve into a tool that nobody on Zwift rides without.

Hope this clears it up. Its just a logical and progressive product improvement for the ZCA.

Dang, this would never work for me since I don’t have a 55" TV.
Unless you’re saying it will make my main display a 55" TV…
