I’ve observed this several times now: every time I update MacOS on my laptop, the Companion app on my phone can no longer connect & display my ride (the “Game” tab).
This is because the app on the laptop loses “local network access” capability after the reinstall.
Moreover, when I go to “security & privacy” settings in MacOS, Zwift doesn’t show in the “local network access” setting.
My workaround is to reinstall the Zwift app on MacOS, and then it will ask for “local network access” on first run.
This is the reaction of Zwift support:
It definitely sounds like the common denominator is how the Mac Mini and the Android version of the Companion app are “handshaking” after that first install.
While running the installer before every ride is certainly not the ideal experience, I’m glad you found a workaround to keep you spinning while we work on this.
Once we have a definitive solution or a firmware/app update ready, we will publish the announcement directly on our community forums. You can keep an eye on the official “Release Notes” and “Known Issues” sections here: Zwift Forums.
