Zwift Companion Game mode not working

I can’t get the game mode to work. I used to work a few months ago. I m on the same WiFi nd turned Data off.

Nobody to call. The support is horrible!

Hi @Shari_Fudell welcome to Zwift forums.
Shuji at Zwift HQ here. I see you started a conversation with my Support Team colleagues who messaged you directly.

Looking at your server log history, I can tell you what changed since you came back to Zwift: the operating system on both your iPad and your iPhone have updated since then. When Apple updates the OS, they reset the permission levels to a tighter default security setting that breaks Bluetooth pairing to your trainer and also the ability for Zwift Companion to “see” the game and flip over into game mode.

Please do these things for the simplest way to correct it.

  1. The lastest version of iOS is v 26.1. Please manually update both the phone and the tablet to the newest iOS version so you don’t have to repeat the following steps.
  2. Uninstall the main Zwift app from your iPad, and reinstall from the Apple App Store.
  3. When you launch the main app say yes when you’re prompted for Bluetooth permissions.
  4. Uninstall / reinstall Zwift Companion from your iPhone.
  5. Say yes to the Devices Nearby prompt when it asks for that.

Assuming that your iPhone and iPad are both on the same WiFi network, you should have game mode appear correctly. If not - please check these common reasons why they might not.
