Hello ,
So here are my first impressions of the cog and click controllers
I have to say the installation was rather clunky; it took some fiddling, but luckily Zwift was able to help me with their excellent installation videos on YouTube.
So I thought I could finally switch the camera easily, but it still doesn’t work. As far as I know (sorry if that’s not the case), there’s simply no button to easily switch between different camera angles. It seems so obvious, yet it’s not there and it’s not programmable. Maybe it will come in the future? But look at a racing game. On Xbox, the yellow or Y button is for changing camera angles. Maybe an update please?
I thought I needed the Zwift Cog for auto-shifting, lol, how wrong I was.
My cassette was quieter than the Cog’s.
++ Connection was stable great !
++ Shifting is super smooth, thanks!
Future : hopefully full customizable button assignments.
steering seems like a unnecessary thing really.
The utility of steering depends a lot on the context. If you race 5v5 club ladder, for example, I wouldn’t to do that without steering. The people without it really suffer. If you’re chasing down a twisty descent, it helps a lot there as well. Also good for passing riders without having to put out a big burst of power, or tailgunning a pack in a race.
There is a third part script to automatically change the camera angle for you. This functionality should be built into Zwift and on/off controllable via the Zwift Companion App but its not. You have to remember to start it just before you enter the ride and it goes through all 9 camera angles, changing every 15 seconds and just keeps on running for the whole ride. This is not ideal for racing but its great for everything else.
It is possible to change the camera position. You can access the Action Bar menu by holding down the “Up” arrow. Within the Action Bar, you can move left and right with the arrow keys to select the camera position menu.
The rear view can be activated instantly using the arrow keys. Zwift Support: Using Your Zwift Click
The controls are kept simple, which makes the functions easy to use without being overly complicated.
Only in an event. In free-ride, a momentary press of the down arrow key does nothing.
but a hold of the down arrow will turn you around. Dangerous if on a route badge
It has an on screen indicator that shows that.
Can I use wahoo wifi and BT Bridge over Companion at the same time?
I mean… The Kicker trainer is connected over Wifi, and the Zwift Click is connected via Companion Bridge?
That sounds like it should work.
