I also like to exaggerate for comic effect.

Amazed that this conversation is still running and yet no one is bothered about not having local time displayed whilst in game.
The mind boggles.
Depends on your device. I’m pretty sure the time shows at the top of the screen when I am using my iPad. Outside of that, though, I also have a clock on the wall, so the time isn’t that important.
I don’t even recall there being an option to have the time on screen in game, let alone something other than local time.
It would never have occurred to me that this was a requirement, so on the “improvements” list I’d have ranked it near the very bottom. I guess that just shows that we shouldn’t assume that everyone has the same priorities.
We’re going off topic but I don’t care, I’m a bad boy…
Nigel, yeah, if I use my android phone, I have local time at the top of screen but I train and ride on a Zwift only PC with no local time whilst in game.
Colin, first world problems, huh!?
If I was a millennial, I would turn this persecution into a major crisis but as I’m old, I just see it as an annoying gripe that I have to live with.
Why is it important?
I’ve lost count of the amount of times that I have been late or missed a real life appointment because I’m lost in the world of Zwift, puffing and sweating without a care, then panicking because I realise what time it is when I see 29 missed calls from work.
So I’ve had to buy a clock.
Zwift could put the local time in game with maybe 30 seconds of a programmers time and yet, I pay for Zwift every month and have to pay for a clock.
It is just another pointer showing how little Zwift care about the user (read that bit whilst imagining I am Alf Garnett sat at the table waiting for my tea and you’ll see where I’m coming from)
Local time displayed whilst in game please.
So simple.
So easy.
So satisfying.
Games should be immersive and make you forget time Many of us have a phone close by that can show the time or give alerts.
That’s all well and good until you remember you are riding before work and need to end at a certain time!
How do you know the time in the rest of the house?
When the companion app is open you can see the time.
ok google “set alarm for 6:50am”
“Ok alarm set for 6:50am”
Today, I have left instructions that my headstone will be engraved with…
“Please, please, pretty please, will Zwift display local time whilst in game? Please and thank you.”
i was referring to this! forgetting the time isn’t a good thing for career progression!
then why have it on some platforms and not others?
I have seen it on Android and it looks out of place. I assume that they assume you have a companion app open when using a PC. But when using a phone you probably don’t have another phone nearby.
I’d guess a lot of android use is on tablets.
But i suppose the wider point is around lack of consistency across platforms. Easy enough to have it and toggle it on/off as required. Why assume what people want and not give them the option?
Beyond belittling a group of people where their elders are now approaching 40 years of age, I can clearly see there is an issue here as if you feel the need to buy a clock for local time instead of using your phone (and the companion app), a head unit on your bike or smart watch on your wrist, a Google/Alexa connected device, a sun dial, a secondary monitor or any other device that has earthly capacities to accurately display your local time.
Now I’ve belittled someone because I want to see local time displayed whilst in game?
I am on a roll!
It even comes in red - to make you faster
On a PC or a Mac there’s also the option of simply running the game windowed to be able to see the clock on the menu/task/whatever bar, or even run a clock application in a separate window and put that somewhere on top of the Zwift window…
