Just had my baseline email through; unlike most people I got some figures in mine - though they’re so far off anything recorded during the ride it’s quite amusing (I like the idea of going all out on a sprint and hitting the heady heights of 70W)
Another empty email here. Did the baseline ride yesterday at 10am BST, got the email this afternoon and no figures or my rider type. Did the first workout this afternoon as well, so beginning to think it’s a
Waste of time.
I personally don’t want the events paused since they are all scheduled into my weeks at this point (I’m planning on doing #2 tomorrow and #3 on Monday, #4 on Wed etc.).
My understanding is as long as people actually go past the finish line halfway down the volcano and get the results for the ride pop-up the data will be stored regardless if the emails come or don’t come, etc. Some folks have reported it not showing but there is an issue where there’s a delay in the percentage updating which is what I imagine those folks are running into.
So what would be nice is for them to actually shut down the emails until they are fixed (which is what they said they did, but apparently that didn’t happen properly), and send an email to everyone that explains the situation. I also think they should just modify the baseline events to end at the top of the Volcano KOM so nobody gets confused about where the finish line is.
Did my ride at 6:00pm EST last night. No email yet and the app still says I have done 0% of the academy work. Was hoping to do another ride tonight in the series, but Wahoo’s stuff suddenly seems much more attractive.
I have yet to receive an email about my baseline ride from Monday. I understand it would have been a dataless email but I still didn’t get it. Neither have I received the apology email explaining the issues from Monday. My concern is, when I repeat the baseline again, will that email go missing as well? Will the second attempt replace the numbers in the companion app? I don’t want to ride it again if I’m not going to get my data. Pls advise soon.
Thx

My phenotype was “!” Instead of “.” Maybe it’s some kind of code we have to figure out!
I’m an exclamation mark too. I rode the baseline almost two days ago, on Tuesday night EST. This email came after the problematic emails were supposedly put on hold by Zwift. Either they didn’t actually hold them, or they thought the issue was fixed and released the emails without actually solving the issue.
It is absolutely mind boggling to me that ZA is not a streamlined event by now. Considering how much work surely must go into this in preparation of the Fall for most users, I cannot believe such showstopper bugs exist. By the very nature of ZA you have a full year to digest the feedback and technical issues that occurred in previous years. That should be plenty of time to have a robust system in place by the time the new ZA rolls around.
I will also add my voice to the opinion shared by many others concerning the lack of communication when issues do arise. This is a time-limited event, and one of the flagship event that Zwift provides. Although it is frustrating that there are issues at all, the frustration is compounded by the lack of communication to the users. This is basic PR stuff.
I rode the Monday September 13th rode at 1 pm Pacific time. Got my email this morning and I got an ! With no segment numbers…
And no email explanation, or caution when entering the event )for the second or third time) that this might happen. This is really deplorable customer care. I guess we’re supposed to keep riding the baseline over and over so they can field test fixes? Are they working on a fix?
Same here. No email since I did the baseline ride. Does it make sense to do the first workout anyway or should I wait until I got the email?
The team is actively working on a fix for the email issues. The data is all there, so unless you experienced the rubber-banding issue on Day 1, you shouldn’t need to do the baseline ride again. Once we’re confident of the fix, the email sends will resume.
There’s no reason why you can’t do the first workout.
Thanks for the quick reply
Just rode the baseline event. Workout icon was missing, was not in WO mode, scored XP’s per KM. Companion app showed arrows, clicking on arrows on ZCA showed orange bar next to hud. Went all the way down the volcano, riders finishing after me disappeared from the list but it’s like I was in the event, not in WO mode, riding but not having started the WO…
I just want to sign off from this krapdemy stuff.
Thank you, Paul. Will those of us that received an email with missing data be sent a second email?
We’re chasing that down too, but need to fix the overarching issue first.
The same happened to me 2 hours ago, likely in the same Baseline event at 18:00 CEST. No bike switching, no instructions on screen. I was riding but not in workout mode, companion app says “Group Ride”, it shows up in zwiftpower as an activity but am not listed in the results.
Is there a way to get these results listed or do we have to do the baseline event again…?
On the start of the last interval of ‘Zwift Academy Road: Workout 2 | FTP Short Blocks on Bologna Time Trial’, it says something to effect hat there are ‘8 minutes left’, but it’s actually 10 whole minutes, and at the beginning of the third interval it says it’s the ‘final interval’. There were a couple of other minor language issues, but those were the biggies.
And I’ve done 2 workouts pre-baseline, and it seems that I didn’t get credit for them. I know that sounds weird, but I haven’t been able to fit the baseline into my schedule (until maybe today).
And did people that hit 50 rides get anything, or it just stopped counting? Curious as I was so close to 50 (48.5) and now the cheese has been moved.
