Hi Zwift team and fellow Zwifters,
I’d like to propose a new world idea: Kruger National Park in South Africa, a world-class, iconic destination that could become Zwift’s first African-based environment.
Why Kruger?
- Terrain Diversity
Kruger has everything a Zwifter could ask for: paved and gravel roads, short punchy climbs, long drags, fast-flowing flats, and technical twisty sections. Ideal for training plans, race events, and endurance routes. - Immersive Visuals & Wildlife
The environment is rich with opportunity. Riders could pass elephants, zebras, giraffes, and distant lion sightings near waterholes. Sound design and lighting could capture early morning mist, sunsets, and even distant thunderstorms. - Signature Climbs and Segments
Kruger features natural elevations and scenic outlooks that could be built into a unique climb (e.g. “Olifants Outlook KOM”), perfect for segment hunters and structured workouts. - Route Versatility
Kruger could easily support multiple route types, flat loops for group rides, gravel adventures, climb-focused routes, and short technical loops for crit-style racing or MTB challenges. - Global Representation
With existing Zwift worlds already covering America, Europe, and Asia, this would be a bold and meaningful step toward broader global inclusion. Kruger is globally recognised and would resonate with riders around the world.
Final Thought
The natural beauty, wildlife diversity, and terrain variation of Kruger could deliver a truly next-level immersive experience on Zwift, both visually and functionally. I’ve submitted this idea to Zwift support, and they recommended sharing it here with the community.
If this sounds exciting to you, please leave a comment or vote to help Zwift bring a bit of Africa into our virtual riding world. ![]()
