I rode Danger Noodle on Wednesday last week, just after getting 1.84.
I didn’t notice any lack of foliage.
MacMini M2.
Now there’s no more oak oppression
For they passed a noble law
And the trees are all kept equal
By hatchet, axe, and saw

Hi, before spending excessive time troubleshooting & re-installing, thought I’d check if any other users are or have had this issue.
For the last few days, in various worlds, Zwift (latest version) is not displaying a layer of graphics. Specifically, the layer that displays much of the vegetation, trees/bushes & leaves. All other graphic layers are being displayed (cities, roads, all riders, bikes & some nearby vegetation. Otherwise, the game runs as normal, recording miles, elevation and saving. It does this regardless of world or ride type (free ride, group, race). It’s not so obvious in cityscapes unless you look out over the horizon & see no vegetation just grass. I’ve been riding in Zwift for many years so aware of what it should look like vs the past few days.
I’m running a Win 10 PC (updated to latest version), Radeon RX580 GPU (latest driver 24.9.1 updated 8/24). There are no graphic issues in other software and as I said, no graphic issues in what Zwift is currently displaying. The missing layer of detail never re-appears as it’s that way from the start of the ride to the end and re-starting the game has no impact.
Any thoughts/suggestions? Thank you
See images below:
The first image shows Makuri dirt road between Neokyo & Yumezi with no leaves & missing trees/vegetation. The second image is the forest climb from the marketplace in Makuri with no landscape in the distance as you start the climb.
Thanks Aaron!! Certainly looks to be the same issue. I searched the forum before posting & missed it as I was searching graphics instead of missing trees
@shooj you might want to check my logs for today for a good example of the issue. This mornings (UK time) rides were fine, this evenings WTRL TTT was not good. I was missing graphics for large sections of the ride.
I have been restarting my rig before each ride since this issue has cropped up, however didn’t have time tonight, just booted up. I don’t have fast boot enabled though.
Zwiftalizer files are available if needed.
Full reinstall on Windows, including wiping the previous files and logs. No “middle tier” scenery. Tried restarting on a variety of settings. Nothing changed.
I see the same issue - majority of trees are gone! I am using Android, so this seems to be across all platforms.
I am on windows and had the same problem.
Today I uninstalled Zwift, deleted all windows caches, prefetch etc. , reinstalled zwift and viola, the flora is back.
Probably unrelated but I’m going to rapport it here anyway, the workout icon next to people’s name is also missing though their workout console still shows in game
Been that way for ages. The workout icons for other riders only show up when you’re doing a workout as well, I think.
Further update @shooj again today is a good example of the issue. My 6Points group ride in Watopia was fine, however the next ride, BMTR in France wasn’t. I quit the ride & restarted my rig in an attempt to fix the issue however on re-joining the issue remained. Difference this time is I’m now on the latest Nvidia drivers so we can rule that out as a potential trigger.
So in summary I’m running windows 11 24H2 which is up to date, Nvidia card with the drivers being up to date, the only thing I can still update is Bios but that’s only 6ish months out & I can’t imagine that could be a trigger.
Log files, some screen shots are available if it helps.
+1 for the lack of trees.
Multiple worlds, rides, etc.
There is definitely some kind of ride specific bug going on. I fixed it then it came back. It works on one account but not the other on the same install.
I noticed today at the bottom of box hill on the way back into the subway a lot of the houses around the base of the hill are missing sections of roof or walls.
The latest update is causing some funky graphical glitches beyond just the missing trees.
Latest or 1.84?
I haven’t gotten 1.85 yet but still no trees on one account
UPDATE March 5
We’re making progress toward a root cause and would like your help to verify a couple of things:
-
We haven’t seen anyone in this thread specifically say they’re missing trees on iOS or Apple TV. If you are using either platform - please weigh in.
-
We made a back-end change that we think should bring back trees, meaning it’s not tied to a specific game version. IMPORTANT: This requires you log out / log in twice. The first log in will download a new setting, but it won’t be applied until the second log in.
Please verify if you do / do not see trees and foliage after the second log in? Thanks in advance.
