What races allow steering

Is it just the future works races on crit city with steering enabled or has this now been opened up more widely? Asking specifically iro of races which is what I spend the vast majority of my time in zwift doing.

Zwiftpower or the companion app don’t seem to have this as a filter to search under as far as I can see

I’m keen to give steering a go but on the basis there are a decent number of races with this enabled with a good spread of times over a typical day

Thanks

Try this stream https://zwifthacks.com/app/events/

Thanks. Really helpful

filtering the link above on races and steering allowed implies about 90% of races now have. Didn’t realise it was so high!

It isn’t. Currently there are very few races that allow steering. In the latest Zwift update ‘no steering’ was set to default, which then ‘broke’ the filtering used by Zwifthacks.com. You can read that in the comment at the top of the site. Hope that it gets fixed soon!

Thanks. Also really helpful

So basically there is no way to get any idea of how many steering enabled races there are either through zwift, the companion app or 3rd party sites and no indication of when this will be possible? And the only races where it is certain steering is enabled is the future works crit city races which seem to only happen once every couple of days?

If that is the case think I’ll hold off getting the steerzo until sorted…

I really think - based on joining several events to test it - that the current information in the ZwiftHacks event list is correct. However, I won’t guarantee it

It seems to me that less and less races have possibility to use Sterzo. I do not know why?

Yeah it’s because users with sterzo have more advantage i guess. It would be better to have more races allowing steering. Now we have zhq races always the same course. Not funny  I don’t understand why it’s not allowed in no race events as well , it’s more difficult to get draft but it’s not an issue for me , if you want non steering with the sterzo just unpair. So i have one but I can’t use it a lot. Cheers

Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong chat. ive just bought the Elite Sterzo smart but cant get it to pair, i am using a laptop with ANT + on a dongle, everything else works fine with Tacx Neo and Garmin HRM, just wont see the Sterzo. The Lights are on showing its trying to pair. Has anyone else had the same thing? is it not ANT+? my old laptop i dont think has bluetooth capability.
Thabks

Sterzo is Bluetooth only at present. Cheap USB dongles work fine, might need to install some files if anything.

Thankyou Dave, Explains why ANT+ wont pick it up then. Thankyou for your help :slightly_smiling_face:

I completely agree. When I have it, I want to use it! Moreover a ride without Sterzo seems to me a litle poor when I got used to it.

Won’t the Companion app help with that?

You are right, the Zwift companion link via bluetooth allowed me to connect the Sterzo, Thankyou Simon

I got my Steerzo this week and have been really disappointed to find how few races and group rides support it.

The Steerzo seems to work great, though really wish I didn’t have to use the companion app to pair everything. Appreciate this is an Apple issue, not Zwift.

Anyway, steering when riding by myself is just not worth the bother - much prefer using the Wahoo Climb. in racing it would be awesome, adding another dimension. But with no races supporting it, what’s the point?!? I found only 4 races on Zwift this week and all of them where in EU time zones so no use to those of us out here on the west coast.

Really disappointed as was excited to try this.

Agree @Batch. This looks ace and I’d be keen to buy one but hardly any races means I won’t yet. Even the races that there are I’m unlikely to be able to do due to other commitments. A shame really but hopefully situation will improve in future.

Maybe as more and more people get we will see a critical mass requesting more races, but who knows!? I suppose the problem is that people like me won’t buy until that happens, which means it won’t happen!

I think if we saw people using them in races and winning then we’d see more people buying them and using them. Would create a network effect.

With the current setup that’s not going to happen which will really dampen adoption. Can’t imagine that’s what Zwift or Elite wants, they must have put a ton of development time and capital in bringing this to market.
