I just installed my new orange Zwift Cog on my Wahoo Kickr V6.
What is the inner adjustable ring for?
It is the ring with the window, and the adjustments numbered 1-10.
I can’t find reference to it anywhere.
Is it to straighten the chain line with my crankset ring?
Thanks!
Yeah it’s for indexing so that you can better align the cog with your chain - this makes the ride a bit smoother and reduces noise level
One of the greatest benefits of Zwift’s virtual shifting, beyond the in-game perks, is its ability to optimize chain alignment between the chainring and cassette. This reduces noise, minimizes wear, and enhances overall efficiency.
The Zwift Cog (v2 I think) assists in aligning the chain in a straight line -this is something Zwift got right!
Hi @Tim_Shafer, thank you for stopping by in our forums!
I’m Fernanda, from Zwift.
It’s awesome to hear that you’re enjoying the Zwift Cog v2 on your KICKR v6—sounds like a fantastic setup!
The ring you’re referring to is actually the adjustable sprocket alignment—designed to improve compatibility with wider bikes and optimize chain positioning. As others in the community have already mentioned, this helps align your chainring and cassette, ensuring smoother shifting and minimal noise.
To help you get the most out of this feature, I’d love to share this video that walks you through how to set it up on your bike. It should make the whole process even easier and more enjoyable!
Hope you take your rides to the next level!
Hi Fernanda,
What’s the recommended number of the ring for the Zwift Ride in combination with the Wahoo Kickr Core? It was preset at number 6.
Thank you in advance!
It depends on how bent out of shape some (if any) of the various parts of the assembly are.
Just try experimenting with the aettings to see which is the most quiet.
