Weights of biking pace partners?

Hello: Are the weights of the biking bots listed anywhere? For example, I’ve read that Diesel weighs 82kg; Cadence 65kg; Brevet 80kg; Anquetil 65kg. What about the newer ones? Thanks

Newer ones are all 75kg I believe.

It’s their heights we don’t know

I remember @James_Zwift mentioned the height but can’t remember it off the top of my head.

You’re right… for the new ones. I don’t think we ever knew the original PP’s height. I think the new ones (from memory) are 175cms

It would make life a lot easier if the weights and heights of all PPs were standardized.

Or, in the meantime, report the equivalent raw watts value corresponding to their W/kg.

Yep, totally agree.

Is this a future upgrade? Moving all PP to 75 kg?
At the moment, it can be a bit confusing -
Imagine a Zwifter -

I can keep up with Daniela (2.15 w/kg 161 W) on the flats, and after a bit of practice, now I can keep up with Coco (2.5 w/kg, 163 W) on the flats, but
only barely with Denise on climbs - Coco leaves me in the dust

This discrepancy is mostly due to different weights in kg (and thus W/kg) not watts, which is not as visible to the Zwifters.

It creates a bit of cognitive dissonance.

I think it would make a lot of long-term sense to standardize all the PP at one weight (75kg, or whatever the most common weight reported by Zwifters is). Some short term pain (worth announcing in the PP weekly update) when the change happens and unfamiliar behavior starts with the older off-weight PP. But I think it is worth it in creating a ladder of PPs, so that Zwifters can aspire to get to the next rung/keep up with the next PP

Yep, I’m going to change them all to 75kg, I think towards the end of August.

Great! Makes total sense to me.

Cheers

I posted this earlier under a new thread in RoboPacers under title “RoboPacers to reflect female weights” but am copying it here as someone pointed out this earlier thread and James from Zwift is on this one and will hopefully read it! Bit disappointed with what I read below, guessing those who think standardising at 75 kg maybe weigh around that weight

“I’ve recently joined Zwift and after a few weeks tried one of the RoboPacer rides. I joined the one closest to a hard, but not full out, W/kg level and found it a lot harder than I expected to. I then realised all RoboPacers weigh 75kg and it all makes sense. I am a 57kg rider with a W/kg of 2.6, so if I joined a 2.2 RoboPacer thinking I was going to do a fairly easy ride on a flat route, then they are actually pushing out nearer 165 watts and not the 125 watts I was looking for. Also explains why I end up flat out on the flat bits and shooting past lots of people on the inclines, which made for a very fragmented ride.
Maybe the next evolution of RoboPacers needs to take into account different weight categories, especially female riders who are less likely to be close to 75kg! Otherwise the RoboPacers don’t give a good ride, you end up working over hard on the flat and cruising up the hills to stay with them.”

You won’t be surprised to hear that there are even more people at the other end of the spectrum who have issues with RPs being 30kg lighter than they are.

If you’re not into racing then you could always change your in-game weight to 75kg. Or follow my lead and eat and eat and eat until your IRL weight gets towards 75kg.

You won’t get much support for wanting lighter robopacers around here. Someone I ride with on Zwift is 49kg - she is very light. Does masses of kms on Zwift, vEverest, even a 365x ADZ a few years ago (was featured in a magazine recent). She also has problems on the robopacer groups having to push well above the normal pace to not get dropped.

I think the way is just have more robopacers, some of them lighter as an alternative. You have more of them at certain times of year so why not permanently.

“Light riders: You too can match your weight to the Zwift Robo Pacer’s weight with this ONE SIMPLE TRICK!”

Holoreplays hate them!

By the way, I was riding with yumi group yesterday (was sick so no hills) and had to maintain at least 3.35w/kg to stay with the 2.9w/kg group.

Even the Evo folk were noting that it was a very speedy group, although the speed was just about the same as old time Coco group at 2.5w/kg (before the weight and pace dynamics changes).

So what you experienced is just a fault of us being too light. Or as someone said elsewhere being “unhealthy lightweight climber”.
