For those of you that run, how would you feel about having pace runners in the May Field loop that run a 4 min/km, 5 min/km, 6 min/km, 7 min/km and 8 min/km?
I don’t run, but my mom always runs at May Field and she would love this.
The stepped dynamic pacing sounds interesting. Have you considered having a bot(s) that only increases their power by 5% on inclines no matter what the gradient is? Could be a nice middle ground - bots don’t get dropped on hills, and the pace doesn’t fluctuate as much for people who want a steady ride.
It can be a significant change of pace with more riders, or riders driving the pace at the front. I did 100k with Brevet on the Volcano Circuit CCW. I had laps at 6:04, 6:00, and then 5:58, then the group got bigger and the next laps were 5:41 and 5:44. My wattage was 208 for the 6:00 lap and 221 for 5:41.
Hi, I was riding with D.Disc yesterday (1.8W/kg). It seemed very strange if I compare the ride to D.Duke (1.8 as well) from Sunday. The needed power was much lower with D.Disc than D.Duke despite both being nominated as 1.8 W/kg bots and both being on the same route (Magnificent 8). My avg pwr with D.Duke was 168W and with D.Disc only 149W.
The only visible difference between the rides was that the group with D.Disc was much smaller than the group with D.Duke and D.Disc was often riding alone without any draft. Could this be the reason?
There’s a problem to follow BB on Triple Flat Loops, when BB turns from tunel to sands, but rider goes to downtown. IMVHO first decision after joining is always ride forward, no matter if BB will ride to downtown or sands.
Great Ride with Daniela today - the dynamic pacing seems to be a big improvement and it was nice to have a PP route with some decent climbs in it for once (albeit maybe a little on the long side).
I managed to judge the right time to jump-in just about right so I could get the route badge without too much extra effort but this was only achievable by dropping in to see where Daniela was on the course and finding a rough lap-time by looking for the elapsed time of somebody in the bunch who had completed round-about the full route distance. Might be useful to publish approximate lap times for common PP / route combos somewhere? Or even better have their route progress in KM shown on the selection screen
I managed to get dropped for a couple of minutes while trying to deal with some Spotify issues which meant I missed having my max drop-multimplier during the Volcano climb.
This gave me an idea - can we get a pedal assist button so if we need to deal with something IRL it doesn’t have to ruin the ride? (obviouslly I’d expect XP /drops and even distance counters to pause while the motor was running)
Someone started using my account on another device and I really wanted my music back
Kept pedalling and only took my eye off the screen for about 30 seconds but the whole bunch was out of sight when I got my attention back.
Never did get the music situation sorted.
Plenty of situations where a pause may be required - I ca understand why it’s not something you’d want in a race situation but I think it makes sense in the context of pace partner rides.
No my wife started using Spotify at home while I was Zwifting in the Gym at work - no mystery or illegality - just an annoying level of silence for me.
