Will the video capture ever be on 1st gen Apple TV 4k? Seems it has been a while since it was rolled out to newer generations.
Any news on this?
It bugs me because Apple TV 4k 1st gen and 4th gen do not have video capture. Little difference between processors and all are still highly capable to run Zwift as what your requirement says.
Please dev team, kindly look into this. Without this feature we also wont get pictures of notable moments of the ride and have to manually screenshot it which is cumbersome, really.

Yes, seems this was ongoing on 2023 and so far was rolled out to 2nd and 3rd gen but not yet on 1st gen and 4th gen. Really hoping to get this feature. @evan-zwift
Is it time to just buy the 2nd or 3rd gen? I mean I just bought this as upgrade from mobile phone. That is why I meant to ask. On your last update there are hopes of rolling out and obviously I am one of them peeps that would appreciate it happening. If it doesn’t then just have to deal with it, I guess.

Hello! We don’t currently have plans to enable video screenshots for Apple TV 4k (1st Gen) or Apple TV 4th Gen (and for anyone who is confused by the naming, Apple TV 4th Gen is one version older than the Apple TV 4k 1st Gen). We did quite a bit of testing on these devices and found that the capabilities of that hardware couldn’t perform to an acceptable degree.
This feature is available for Apple TV 4k (2nd Gen) and Apple TV 4k (3rd Gen, which is the latest model), so if you do decide to upgrade your device in the future, it will work on those.

Just don’t buy ATV 4k 2nd gen. (no shadows in zwift) it has better graphics than ATV 4k 1st gen. (It has shadows.)

Why can an old Iphone get a screen recorded and a console can’t achieve this boggles me. I am no expert but I appreciate you taking time. Since you are not closing doors on this feature just yet, I am keeping my fingers crossed and maybe in the future it will gain a bit of attention and become a possibility.
Just tried taking short videos manually and it is no where close to what you guys can produce😅

Did you mean just stick with the 1st gen coz the graphics aint much of a difference with 2nd gen?
gen 2 (2021) has a slower GPU than Gen 1 (2017). If you want to replace the ATV 4k Gen 1, only with gen3 (2022).
I wanted to buy a 4k gen 2 ATV for the second room, but I was surprised why Zwift looks worse than on my 2017 version.
