Van Rysel D500 v1 and Zwift Cog

Does anyone know if the old version of the van rysel d500 can already support cog or virtual shifting? I received a newsletter from Zwift saying that it was already possible, but I couldn’t find any information on the subject.

Zwift’s documentation says yes. I have no personal experience with it though. Firmware update may be required if it’s not recent.

There’s two versions of the D500 - the older one with a more square housing and handle, which is probably the one you’re asking about, and the new one, which looks more like the D100 and is probably a rebranded Magene T200 and is sold with the Cog preinstalled. The old one, probably not, and I don’t think there will be a firmware update. The new one, yes.

Good point, when I re-read that documentation, it says that the D500 that is sold with the Cog is compatible but then in the lower table where it talks about trainers that can be converted for use with the Cog, the D500 is not there.

Hi @Tomazz
Shuji at Zwift HQ here. Your assumption is correct. Decathlon is not releasing firmware for the older D500.

For those who google their way to this thread, the version 1 D500 looks like this:

The new D500 is a different model, and will support Virtual Shifting. This is the one that comes with the new Zwift Click in the box and Zwift Cog v2 pre-installed.
