Hitting 150rpm on my Big Wheel was very funny.
To me, at least.

I can fully understand your annoyance Sarah. When I was new on Zwift I spent many drops on bikes & wheels but since owning the Tron, its my absolute favorite. As you said, it’s a game. The bike should look cool, period. I don’t care about the speed reduction as long as my power curve satisfies. Sometimes, when chasing new PR up to AdZ or MtVent I swap to my 2nd favorite - Aethos. All other bikes I own I rode probably once, but compared with Tron, they lose. The few seconds going faster won’t never compensate the ‘bad’ design.
Yup, I’m very glad they are doing the bike swap. I’ve done a few events through the jungle (some attempting the swap, some trying to slog it out without a swap), and I find bike swapping does not add anything to my personal enjoyment. So I’m actually enjoying ToW Stage 4 and will probably do Stage 4 a bunch of times, where if there was no auto-bike-swap I’d probably be one-and-done with it.
That said, I’m firmly in camp #pavethejungle so I have my own biases here ![]()
I would love that section at the start of Road to Sky to be paved or put on a bypass tunnel to avoid the jungle.
The tunnel could be level locked (level 60).
Cue outrage now! ![]()
Gotta love a bit of gravel, the more the merrier

it is only a few KM and it is all downhill ![]()
Was i the only one where auto bike swap didnt work? I was still on my road bike when everyone else swapped to mtb? Game is up to date.
I was happy they auto swapped it but at the same time I totally get your frustrations and I done similar things.
Like wasting drops on canyon only to see it get nerfed a day later. Zwift you sons of…
Here’s the solution:
Choose your Crux (I did this)
Wait 3 minutes.
Late join. At this point, riders are past the ‘bike swap’ banner.
You will see other riders on their choice of starting bike, when they are really on the gravel bike.
PS In the old days, the jungle route was fast. All surfaces were the same speed.
I remember those days fondly… ![]()
This was a new addition following this thread. I think that’s the right move, as we are still early in the week. I still think the stage-specific details are a little buried in the description and question the necessity of the preamble for the ToW. However, I acknowledge the current format will cast a wider net and be more beneficial to newer riders.
In any event, I applaud the update, as people who join for the first time today will be apprised of the bike swap in-line with their ride selection.
The Auto bike swap never happened for me when I hit the Jungle circuit, and I didn’t see any other riders on mountain bikes either.…not sure what happened ? I was gettting passed by a ton of riders, so I’m thinking that they were riding the mountain bikes and I just couldn’t see it (just guessing).
I wasn’t aware of the automatic bike swap on ToW stage 4 when entering the jungle and during the ride I stopped to perform a manual bike swap. While riding in the jungle I noticed every rider was on a mtb bike, so that’s when I figured it out. Then it dawned on me that I’d have to take a second time penalty compared to everyone else to manually swap back to a road bike when leaving the jungle. I thought it was funny and got a nice laugh out of my goof-up. On subsequent ToW stage 4 rides, I made sure not to make that mistake again.
How often per week do you ride Road to sky? ![]()
I used to do that daily - the gravel was annoying. Fortunately we can now just have someone ride ahead of time then join them before start line of ADZ. ![]()
I have done a few trips up the Alpe 50+ times
It is less than a minute slower and part of the warm up.
I would appreciate if Zwift make all roads the same rolling resistance as gravel.![]()

Yeah lets have a lot more gravel with some nice narrow (couple of feet) descents, with over hanging branches, you know like in real life

As i have said many times before, I have no problem with gravel making you slower my problem with it is that it doesn’t make it harder to pedal.
Sarah, there are 2 things I hate to hear.
IT help desk: Have you restarted your computer?
Zwift forums: Did you read the event description?
I just think they don’t understand us!
Sadly those two questions solve 90% of all user questions.
Tim just won the internet! ![]()

Sorry I didn’t read the 1,200-word marketing material and only read the ride description. I was remiss in completing my homework. I guess in the future, I can heed the most overused trope of the past three years “do your own research!” ![]()
I am forever humbled and will spend my time in the future reading and highlighting all Zwift materials and being contrarian to everyone and everything just because!
