At least it’s not all coffee cups

But icons are so distracting though?

People should be able to turn on or off elements on screen as they wish.

Everytime a Zwift 2.0 is suggested, people say no - they like Zwift 1.0.

If you’re heading up a KOM segement, and you have the elevation profile, then the forced segment position display, then thumbs-ups/feathers/coffee cups and name placards, it can be a bit much. Yes, it is possible to turn off the elevation profile, and hide the thumbs.

As for Zwift 2.0, I think just re-coding what they have, to make it more efficient would be a major project. From some of the behavior, it tells me that there are sections of code that nobody “owns” and nobody wants to touch it. The fact that we don’t have toggles for older UI items is telling, as is the silence of the Robopacers after the “MyCanyon fiasco” (I still find it funny that they silenced the Robopacers instead of just removing/retiming the “MyCanyon” posts from them).

I could be wrong, it could just be that the PMs at Zwift don’t care what the users want, since even when they code in new features, they don’t give us toggles. A prime example of that is the fact that when they added “Running” to the Fitness tracker, walking was considered part of running fitness. A few people screamed that they only wanted running. Instead of just putting a “Include Walking” toggle, they removed walking completely, and now more people are screaming.

Amazing that this is 7 years old and still crickets from ZHQ. It is so annoying in the big races. Finished DRS today and couldn’t see the banner until I was 50m from the finish.

I’m going to say people have no idea what they are talking about, lol. 10 year old game still with 10 year old functionality. It’s like driving a junky assed old car, sure it drives and you may like it but you don’t know what you are missing until you have the opportunity to try a new car. Sure people might like Zwift 1.0 but everything should be better in Zwift 2.0.

Actually ignore me. Zwift can’t implement these easy to implement items so I’m giving them too much credit at being able to execute a game update large enough to be called 2.0

A more plausible explanation is that they either disagree with the requested change or think it’s OK but priority is so low that it never rises to the top of the list. We may never know. There isn’t any sign of significant interest from users.
