Today's latest bugs

Was riding Greatest London Flat with JACQUES until the program decided I wanted to ride solo loops up Fox then Leith Hill. Then I had someone drafting me on the flat doing 120 watts while I was doing 200 watts.

This program has so many bugs considering you’ve been charging customers for almost 10 years.

Do you have a steering device paired? If so, you should look for the Intersection Controls setting and toggle that.

There’s no way to evaluate this without understanding more about the circumstances. Video would help.

I am well aware of manual steering. I didn’t select the route, Zwift just chose it for me after 30 minutes or so of riding with the Pace Partner.

Honestly the draft has been quite buggy for some time. As you can imagine, I don’t have a video.

Do you have a steering device paired (eg, Sterzo, Kickr Bike controls) and is the Intersection Controls setting on or off? This could be a bug or not.

I can’t tell if your comment about the draft is a bug or by design because of the lack of information. This does not sound like a bug - it may be by design. I’m curious about the circumstances but there’s not much to say without understanding more about it.

Easily possible in Zwift, if they are listed as being quite short, minimum possible claimed height is ~120cm iirc.

I’m 5’5” IRL and in Zwift and can’t do that.

Part of the game design is that a short person sitting on the front gives as much draft to a following rider as anyone else. So you provide as much draft savings at 5’5” as you would if you are 7’ tall and 300 pounds. I’m unsure if that’s a factor here but it is weird and very unrealistic. It’s also not a bug, it’s a choice.

That make sense but the previous poster said it is “easily possible” for someone who is really short to output 120 watts and draft off someone doing 200 watts. I was just saying I am 5’5” and that is not my experience with the draft in Zwift.

Honestly there is just not enough information here to have anything to talk about. I would love to get into it more but it’s not possible and as a bug report this probably won’t go anywhere because there’s not enough data to understand what you saw. It is completely normal for people (most of them) to put out more watts than necessary to sit in the draft in Zwift because of how pack dynamics is implemented. People who understand how it works and carefully modulate power will work much less to stay in the draft than most riders you might see in the game, especially as speed increases. Whether that is what you observed or not remains a mystery.

He meant short, in the game, not in real life. Some people make their Zwift height unrealistically short.

And are you going to supply any additional information about your circumstances, as requested multiple times? Without that, no one can provide any meaningful insight.

Yeah, I don’t record videos of the entire ride….as I have already said. I have also already given you my height, the power numbers, that I didn’t make any manual course changes…..just close this thread.

Nothing here has been helpful at all so I’ll just treat these bugs as features.

Your choice, I suppose. But since there don’t seem to be any widespread reports of issues like this, it seems more likely these are issues on your end, and opposed to bugs in the game. :man_shrugging:

You’re right. It’s my fault. Thank you!

If your game device supports the video screenshots feature, that can be very useful for capturing something unexpected that happened before you push the video button, since it is constantly recording and will save the previous 15 seconds when you trigger it. I use it to grab bugs regularly, since a normal screenshot can’t go back in time to demonstrate something in the past. It can also be used to show details that are difficult to recall or laborious to describe.
