You can turn it off. Do yall winge about burping too?
So much noise & wasted resource about something as insignificant as levels… It must only be a minority who care about them. Who knows probably less than the amount of people who race (/sarcasm)
Perhaps I’m over simplifying it, but why not leave 1-100 as they were & move the ‘new’ system to 101-200?
Everyone still gets to level up (wow!), everyone goes through the same experience (excusing the previous change) and those at the top end get their ‘prestige’ set of levels or whatever you want to call them.
How is one company so bad at change management? Every change shouldn’t bring drama.
Not if they add levels which are a lot harder to acchieve. So just get rid of the banking at one point so in a while it all gets the same for everyone. Making it a lot harder like they are doing now after three months of coming up with the idea will most likely also put people off for more zwifting or zwifting all together.
Lol. I think you think he’s talking about rider highlighting.
I think you’re wrong.
We waited 5 months for that!
Let’s hope the team playing around with levels isn’t responsible for Zwift Racing Score v2.
I sure feel I did enough work to get there over a lot of time, I already had 832,000XP when the first XP reset was done years ago then we were shoved onto this convoluted 50-60 banked XP scheme.
When I complained and questioned the logic of it I was blasted by a few on here in very rude terms. Now people are still complaining about it.
None of this trouble would have brewed if people with enough XP were simply put straight up to whatever their XP amount allowed.
I agree with this in the past but now there could be people who are level 100 with fewer than 1,000,000 XP and so their new level would be below 100.
I think the big issue previously was lowering the upper limit but increasing the levels.
now the issue is stretching the levels out but keeping people on the same numerical level
adding levels on top of the existing limit seems like the only logical thing to do but this has not been done int he old level 100 or the new one that is being proposed.
this isn’t the point Gerrie is making - but there will be people at level 100 who have ridden less than people in the levels below them they just happened to ride at a time when the levels were closer together,
Who cares? If levelling up is an incentive to some, that’s fine. But why bother about what anyone else did? Just make the XP levels private for everybody.
Simple solution here
Seems like when you implemented 60 - 100 you split the user base into 3 camps. Those happy with the change, those opposed to the change and those that really couldn’t be bothered.
Now you are going to change it again, you still have 3 camps but those opposed and those happy have now switched places. So Zwift have managed to annoy the majority of Zwift users in the last few months!
Simple solution here and I wouldn’t normally suggest this, but the 60 - 100 levels were implemented a while ago and the impact of this change are now apparent in game and have been for a few months now. Many people at 100 already.
In May, give everyone a choice. Either stay on the originally implemented 60-100 trajectory OR opt in to the new methodology that will take longer to hit level 100.
When levels 26-50 were implemented the concept of accelerated XP was introduced…BUT…for those eligible, you had the option to opt in or out. Plus, you will have different calculations in game already for those with banked XP and those without.
Giving people the choice will please the majority of zwifters. Those that want to take longer to hit 100…bang…fill your boots, those that want to stay on the original level 100 path…bang…fill your boots.
Changing in May feels like organising a marathon event and then extending it to 30 miles when some people have already crossed the finish line and others are scattered at different places all over the course thinking they understood the rules but then they suddenly change.
nice analogy!
I do!! I am competitive and a few of us is racing to 100, some are already there.
Amazing, you are wrong about both being able to turn off the smudges and also about spelling the word “whine.”
Running it by people would be a case of saying what you’re thinking about, in detail; waiting for feedback; then redesigning if necessary. This is just being vague about what you’ve already started building, and are about to release irrespective of the comments.
Or “whinge”
I mean, if you’re going to pick at someone’s spelling (a cheap shot, particularly as typos are easy to make, and some people have difficulty with spelling, or are dyslexic), you should at least correct the word they intended. I presume they meant “whinge”.
A button to optionally clear all route badges would be great. I would enjoy ticking them off again.
But please don’t clear the extra credit badges. I don’t plan to vEverest again, and I’m too old now for that 1600 Watts target (or whatever it was).
“Whinge” is not a word, learn to speak American
We prefer to speak a language with more words, not fewer.
Made up words don’t count, e.g. aluminium
And before anyone complains about this being off-topic, it’s far more important than circular complaints about made up internet points that don’t matter
as Eddie Izzard said : we say herbs not 'erbs because there a ■■■■■■■ H in it
honestly I don’t care about the level system as it no longer holds any sway of being able to get the best wheels/frames etc for racing…unless zwift introduce new bikes/wheels at higher levels that are going to be superior to what is available I don’t see the need, same as XP, i got millions stored up and no use for them
