If I were Zwift I would be ignoring feedback from anyone who doesn’t care about XP and leveling, or doesn’t use the product at all, since their gripes are largely irrelevant to the feature and there’s plenty of constructive feedback here already. All the useful points have already been made.
All the useful points were made weeks ago.
I think Zwift is a bit more than a game, but if you want to look at it that way, a lot of people have been playing the game for a long time. And all that time, they have been gaining experience, reflected in XP. And it’s fair to say that they should be at a level commiserate with that experience. The current system at least has the appearance of disregarding those early adopters.
Accelerated leveling after being robbed of XP ( banked XP )
Earned XP removed by the organizer is not a reward.
The goal posts were moved after the game was started.
Level Transitioning (2 chevrons) is no longer working, including the 20% XP discount per level, as mentioned in the Zwift Support page:
Level Transitioning
When we rebalanced the XP requirements for leveling up, we kept members on the same level. We used the difference between the XP you had earned to reach that level under the previous XP scale and the new (lower) value needed to reach the same level with the rebalanced XP scale to identify the level you're transitioning to.
For example, if you had earned 750,000 XP and were on level 60 when we rebalanced the XP values you remained on level 60. If level 60 required 750,000 XP and now requires only 310,500 XP, you had 439,500 XP remaining. We used this difference in XP of 439,500 to discount the XP you need to earn to reach your next levels by 20%.
When you're in level transitioning, a few different things happen:
The XP you need to earn to get to the next level is discounted by 20%, check out the table below for more info.
You'll see an icon indicating the level you're transitioning to on the MENU screen. This icon includes 2 chevrons: 2 Chevrons
Once you reach your target level, you may have some XP (less than 20% of the value to reach the next level) remaining. Any XP you have remaining is deducted from the total you need to reach the next level.
After you reach the indicated level, you will no longer be in level transitioning.
At the beginning of July it was still shown at the end of ride screen and that it would be active until Level 86. A few days later I noticed that it disappeared from that screen. On Zwift Insider they mentioned it might just be a bug that needs to be fixed or the issue would resolve itself after leveling up. Well yesterday I leveled up to Level 56 and it still does not show the 2 chevrons and the amount of XP required to reach the next level is shown as 10000 instead of 8000 XP.
Currently running Zwift on iOS (iPad).
Same issue. 20% discount and level transitioning gone.
I have the same issue. Double chevron and 20% discount no longer showing up in the end of ride report.
Do you still have the chevrons showing on the menu screen during a ride?
I have not done much riding recently so haven’t been able to test but this previous post may give the answer?
Have you levelled up recently?
I am level 59, accelerated until 99! This looks completely out of measure to me, 20% discount is way too little considering how many have been on a much steeper slope for years and years
Nope, no longer showing in that menu.
Yes, leveled up yesterday and the double chevron is still missing.
Plus the amount of XP required to level up to the next level is the full amount and not the discounted amount that it should be according to the Zwift support page info.
Contact support, and please let us know what they say.
@Nicky_O Thank you for the report, I’ll bring this to this back to the team and we’ll dig into it today.
Same problem for me.
@Nicky_O The team looked into this, and with the higher XP requirements of the new level curve, your transition period was completed at Level 55 and therefore you are no longer receiving XP discounts.
Thanks for the quick feedback.
At least I already have my fire socks
Thanks @evan-zwift for the quick feedback.

Hi everyone,
Confirming that the updated support article Mark mentioned is now available with changes to better illustrate the different leveling experiences (new Zwifter vs Level Transitioning vs Accelerated Leveling) and how much XP is needed to achieve the next level.
Some time back @shooj said there was work being done to make the many millions of drops that high-level zwifters have accumulated not-worthless. Giving more drops every time you go through 20k XP at level 100 is kind of insulting tbh, I’m only level 75 and have more than 16 million useless drops.
