Speed limit for running

Most tendmill speeds are 20 km or at most 25 km per hour and 30 km per hour.

I think it’s fair for everyone that there should be a speed of around 20 to 25km per hr.

Or at least clubs should be allowed to set their own speed limit so it doesn’t destroy running events for everyone else in the event.

It would have to be at least 25kph since Zwift supports the Kickr Run. For me, it’s not the runners blasting off the front that bother me, it’s the ones that hold the same pace when the route goes uphill.

The ones you mean that pass you on ADZ or other climbs while you ride a bike,.. seen this many times

I’ve actually passed bikes on AdZ with my treadmill matching the incline (I’m a mountain runner living in the flatlands, so I spend a lot of time with my treadmill at 10%+). But yeah, if I’m pushing uphill near the redline and get dropped like a rock, I know that they are probably at 1% or less incline. That is one of the reasons why treadmill races on Zwift will never work, unless it’s on Mayfield, but what’s the point of that? The thing is, it really doesn’t bother me as much on the run, as when I’m on the bike and see obvious “issues”, since most of us that run are just using Zwift to take our minds off the hamster wheel. Although there was one runner holding Olympic 400 meter pace for a 5k, that did get to me.

Perhaps the limit would be 25 km/h, but no one is really running above 25 km/h on a treadmill.

If people are going to be running over 13 km/h in a Zwift race, they should have a heart rate monitor on, and their steps per minute should be over 130 steps per minute, not 101 steps per minute.

I can see some running events that don’t want people in them if they’re running too fast, especially if the event is for slow runners.

Actually saw one a while back on a flat road in Zwift, running fast enough to give one of the bicycle robopacer groups a run for their money.

It looked pretty comical.

On Zwift I saw someone with a fast run.
Distance of over 49 km and under 3 hours, with a top speed of 1:57 minutes per km.

This run is high-speed.

I wish I could do this run.

What tendmill would they be using??

Any treadmill should be able to hold that speed, especially if the runner is not on it. Not saying this isn’t legit, but there are folks who are using apps or just letting their treadmills “run” without them, just like there are on the cycling side of Zwift

I haven’t found a tendmill that can go over 30km per hour.

I know Techogym skillrun can go up to 30km per hr but not 30.8km per hour and which is 1:57 mins per km.

Maybe they were running on a non-motorized treadmill and a runpod? Not defending this runner, but that is one way to hit a legit sprinters pace while running long distance

They used a Garmin Enduro 3 watch.

Is a Garmin Enduro 3 watch any good on Zwift?

I haven’t run with a watch setting my pace, but I’m guessing it’s sending cadence data to Zwift, and then Zwift is calculating the pace. The problem with that method is you have to maintain the same strides that you initially calibrated with. If you increase your cadence by taking shorter steps, while maintaining the same speed on the treadmill, it will appear that you have increased your pace.

Maybe they are upgrading their shoes to level 5?
