Samsung Tablet with keyboard paired

So, I’m thinking of buying a samsung (or similar) tablet to run zwift. The plan would be to use my existing ant+ dongle for cadence and HRM and bluetooth for my kickr snap. That would work, right? Also, if I were to pair a bluetooth keyboard, would I be able to use the same keyboard shortcuts available on a PC, like for camera views or gestures?

Why would you not run everything off Bluetooth? I’m not sure that a Samsung tablet would support an ANT+ dongle, or even if it did that it would be reliable.

I have older HRM and cadence sensors that are ANT+ only. The Samsung galaxy tablet does have ant+ built in actually, so wouldn’t need a dongle for that. Really the question here is regarding keyboard shortcuts with a paired BLE keyboard.

i have a Samsung Tab s6 and no need for bluetooth for the keyboard, that being said if you have to use bluetooth for the keyboard it may have an effect re drop outs on your smart trainer if to many devices connected

Hi Paul. Do you mean that the Tab S6 has a keyboard attached already?

Edit: A quick google answered this question for me. Thanks for pointing this out! Are you able to use the same key shortcuts available on PC?

Hi sorry for slow reply, the keyboard i use is attached and i can use it as a laptop al be it slower as difficult to type and ride ,

No worries. Happy new year!

I just scored a brand new S6 on ebay for $400, which arrived yesterday. Took it for a 5 minute test spin on Zwift last night and everything connected easily. Kickr Snap via bluetooth and HRM & cadence sensors via ant+.

So sounds like you have the official Samsung keyboard case that physically attaches? Not sure how much I’ll actually use the keyboard so went with a less expensive bluetooth keyboard case. Hoping I can use the number keys for camera views just as you can do on a PC, so I can easily see who’s behind me without having to tap through each view to check my 6 and then back to the default view. Time will tell if it causes my trainer to drop. I’m hopeful that it won’t since it’ll be only two bluetooth devices, but we’ll see. Thanks for your input!
