Routinely crashing - Galaxy A9+

Hey team,

I run Zwift on a Samsung Galaxy A9+ and it’s been great, until the last coupleof weeks where it now crashes after about 20 minutes half an hour or so.

I’ve tried clearing the cache, reinstalling, still happening.

After the crash the ride does get saved but it’s annoying having to restart (obviously wouldn’t chance any races while this goes on).

Are there settings i should be tweaking to ensure non-crash performance?

Hi @chris_dk

Welcome to the forums! I’m Haziel from Zwift Support. I took a quick look at your log files and found a few reasons for the crashing issues you’ve been having.

It seems like your Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ RAM, it’s dropping pretty low. To keep your tablet from freezing up completely, Android kicks out the heaviest background app to free up some RAM, which is causing the crashes.

To help with this, try closing any background apps before you start Zwift. Just tap the “Recent Apps” button and hit “Close All.” Also, it’s a good idea to avoid minimizing Zwift or letting your tablet’s screen turn off mid-ride, since even a brief pause can make the app close because of low memory.

If you’ve got any other questions, just reach out. We’re here to support you!

Ride On.

Hi there, I’ve followed the steps to ensure zwift is the only app running and I’ve just had my latest crash, is there anything else you can recommend?
