Problem with virtual shifting and Neo 2T / Zwift Play and Zwift Click / Windows / TP-Link UB400 Bluetooth dongle

Hello, I have a problem with my Neo 2T and the Zwift Play and Zwift Click controllers.

When using virtual shifting, if I sprint very hard, the resistance completely drops and I end up spinning at 150 rpm, then it returns to normal. Needless to say, I can’t sprint during races, and it’s very frustrating.

Has anyone experienced this problem and managed to fix it?

Upload a log file to trainerdx.com so you can understand if you are getting Bluetooth disconnections. Post screenshots if you need help understanding what you’re looking at.

Have you already tested when pairing only one of the controls, just to reduce the amount of Bluetooth traffic? If the trainer is disconnecting, consider trying the UB500 which is a pretty standard fix, though not a guarantee.

ok for trainer dx…
Zwift Click uses a single Bluetooth connection.
The resistance works very well when virtual shifting is disabled.
I ran some tests and nothing disconnects over Bluetooth.
The issue seems to occur only when virtual shifting is turned ON. When it is OFF, everything works perfectly.

It is easy to see that the RPM increases while the power decreases.

If trainerdx.com shows no disconnects then you probably need to talk to support, like contact both Garmin and Zwift support and see what they say. Some people have done firmware downgrades provided by Garmin, so if they tell you that’s not possible, you know it is. If you have access to a RealTek RTL8761B chipset USB dongle, I would try it.

I’ve already dongle usb bluetooth Tp linl UB500, it’s not good?

You said UB400 not UB500, so the question is which chipset is in that adapter? I have a UB400 which has a CSR chipset and supports Bluetooth version 4. I changed to the UB500 with a RealTek chipset which supports Bluetooth version 5. I heard that later versions of the UB400 may be using RealTek now, so what you have may depend on when it was manufactured.

Sorry it was ub500, not 400…

The first half was with virtual gears, and it didn’t work — it was horrible. The second half was with Zwift Click turned on but virtual gears turned off, and it worked very well in terms of resistance.

I can’t attach a link to provide you with the trainer details.

Do you have anything else you can use to run the game for testing purposes? Like power off the PC, run the game on an iPhone, see if you get the same experience.

Yes, with a tablet it didn’t work, and with a Mac mini M4 it didn’t work either.

That makes me think you need to talk to Garmin and not use virtual shifting for now. Bluetooth on a Mac is usually solid.

In any case, without virtual gears it works really well in terms of resistance.
But I’d really like the virtual gears to work

Ok many thanks!

@shooj Is there a Zwift admin who can help me resolve this issue?

I received new Zwift controllers, but they don’t work either. I sent an email to Garmin, but they say it’s not the Tacx Neo 2T because the resistance works when the virtual controllers are disabled (which is true). So it’s a Zwift issue.

Help me plz!

you’d better off reaching out to support rather than relying on the forums

Done:

Zwift support and garmin support…

Zwift send me zwift Play but samedi issue..

Garmin: not solution
