Hi all. Just joined and while I’m enjoying the program a lot, I’m very much struggling with the gender component (I’m a nonbinary person). @Laura_Hayes1 - I had the same experience - I chose male because I was too uncomfortable to choose female but I’m definitely not getting accurate data about rides now. It very much seems that the information Zwift is asking for is sex - not gender - which makes the question doubly confusing.
@shooj could you please offer an update as to the state of the conversation at Zwift and what you anticipate could eventually be offered? Thank you!
Hi @Kel_K welcome to Zwift forums
I would like to ask you a clarifying question. Are you asking if you can switch your profile from male to female to see what effect this has on your in-game performance data? If that’s the case - my colleagues can help you with that at Contact Us - Official Zwift Support | Zwift
If you’re asking instead about the progress of the creation of new avatars - we’re working on getting that staffed up, but there’s no ETA on when this might be ready. The problem’s always been a matter of not enough personnel resources, and we’re working to remedy that.
I know I am really late to this conversation. I just signed up for zwift. But the fact that there are only 2 available genders is really off-putting to me. I would even settle for an other option. Typically, I am gender-non conforming, and don’t really like labels. So for me that would even be enough. We don’t live in a bianary world, and professional sports have got to work on catching up to that.
