The 30day PR boards are great, but your #1 PB should persist beyond 30days. This way if you’re on a periodized training schedule with a sub max rest phase built in, you’ll know where you stand when you start hitting the bike hard again down the road.

I agree. However your best times are recorded and kept in Strava via the segments. So you will never lose them.
True if you’re linked you won’t loose them, but you need to go into the website and drill into the data to compare segments – something you wouldn’t really do mid-bike. Having that immediate feedback in-game is much more motivating and saves having sticky notes plastered everywhere
