New wahoo kicker pro suddenly gets connection failure

Greetings all

I just purchased a wahoo Kickr Pro and everything was working perfectly until recently. Now, there’s a connection failure on my Apple iPad screen, power and cadence drops…and I also get dropped :frowning:

After 5-10 seconds it’s back on, only to drop again.

I’ve tried unplugging the Kickr, unpairing with wahoo app, powering off iPad, nothing seems to solve this brand new issue. I was able to have Zwift companion, Kickr fan, and all devices running without problems.

Any help in this greatly appreciated.

Hi @Paul_T_Varga Welcome to Zwift! It’s Haziel here, and I want to thank you for sharing the details about your connection issues. I understand how this interrupted your rides, especially after everything was going smoothly. I’m here to help you through this.

First, I noticed there’s a Zwift update available. When you get a chance, please check the App Store and update Zwift to the latest version. It’s also a good idea to do the same with the Zwift Companion App to ensure both are current and working well together.

To improve your connection, try using the Zwift Companion App as a Bridge to use it. I recommend that you use a different device besides the iPad. This approach often helps make Bluetooth connections more stable on iOS devices.

It would also be helpful if you could confirm if you experience the same issue with the Wahoo Fitness app. This information will give us a better idea of whether the problem lies with Zwift specifically or if it’s more general.

When you’re on the Paired Devices screen in Zwift, please make sure to select your POWER SOURCE and double-check that your trainer or bike is set to the correct mode—either SIM or ERG mode—based on your ride setup.

Lastly, I recommend resetting all relevant devices (Kickr Pro, iPad, apps) to ensure they’ve all been fully rebooted after the updates.

If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re here to help!

If you’re pairing via WiFi, try it with Bluetooth instead.

Or use a wired LAN connection. Much faster boot and rock solid interface. I would have a problem going back to BT or ANT…
