New Halo Bikes, New Drop Shop Bikes [March 2025]

I’m referring to the ‘but but why should Zwift do anything about it because it’s not cheating’ argument that’s been resurrected every 30 posts now. There are a lot of reasons to not like it, but one simple reason why Zwift would have the right to stop it if they wanted–and why they should, imo.

Yep and I don’t care about the legal stuff that nobody reads when they agree to it, because what matters is that the game is good. If they look at the ToS and say we cool with what people are doing, I still say it sucks, lawyers be damned.

You are right and it is wrong and it affects the experience of customers who are doing the right thing and following the intended way to get these upgrades.

They see these folks cheating their way to the upgrades in times that are impossible for people who are doing the right thing and of course they are fed up.

I had a run in with a teammate at the weekend in a small group chat, after I asked him how many bikes he’d upgraded on his Ven Top downhills. He turned on me very quickly and then blocked me on Zwift and Strava. He’d already unlocked a ton of bikes via the previous TT hack. But how he reacted speaks volumes and backs up the “detracting from some users’ enjoyment of the system” because he got spiteful when simply asked a question.

We’re not disagreeing. It does suck, and Zwift has a clear path via TOS to do something.

LOL, “I’m going to block you because there’s nothing wrong with what I’m doing!” That does seem like an admission, doesn’t it?

Don’t harass James, that’s why he’s not on these boards anymore.

If you’re going to do email him about riders, make a list and email it to him, otherwise he’s likely to ignore you, and/or shunt your emails to a spam folder. And should, if you were to do that.

Yep - and blocking me on Zwift doesn’t stop my daughter from logging in to her ZC and seeing him currently at 113km in 1 hr 45. Ha!!!

I find it hilarious that all this bike upgrade hacking is going on with very little done by ZwiftHQ, yet I was shadow banned for a week last month for pointing out something that has been brought up on this forum regarding streaks numerous times, without anything being done.I was part of one these forum conversations last summer and it is still there and no penalties were dished out.

At best, ZwiftHQ are very naive about how they leave obvious loopholes in their programming. Age; weight; height; streaks; bike upgrades; lack of email verifcation for new accounts etc.

At worst, they know what goes on and do as good as nothing, through fear of losing future subscription revenue.

this essentially what it all boils down to, money, they can show investors that they are still gaining/keeping a base level of subscribers and are worth investing in the platform

the other issue is that by admitting there is a problem means they then have to resolve that issue at some point down the line

I want to know what you took a ban for now :ninja:

Aha, that is why you started to follow me. To see if I was doing it

Now why would you think that!!!? :face_with_monocle:

Well I would like to think that you admire my race craft, my epic decisions in races, my great timing, route knowledge and out of this world sprints … but somewhere I doubt that

all you could see today was me struggling up the Alpe to get the Aethos to level 3, which I am around 2300m of elevation short…

well Tom (and all), should this actually be a separate topic for people to vote in support? This thread really isn’t about halo bikes and upgrades anymore. It has become accusations of cheating, mileage hacking, and possible solutions and punishments.

We are really off topic now and this thread is no longer useful for Zwifters seeking information on Halo bikes.

Better to just stop the cheating rather than burying the requests to stop the cheating. Or trying to shut down the discussion from people who want this stopped.

This cheating to acquire upgrades to game bikes is absolutely on topic.

Can’t you see the degree of angry people who want this fixed? This has to be stopped.

I’m staying away from Ventop - just don’t want to see the teleporting nonsense, it makes me more likely to find a different cycling app.

It is an insult to the people who are putting in the effort to do their upgrades the right way.

I see, yes.
However, this is not really constructive within the topic.
The topic has changed to: “Dropping Down is Cheating.”
This is perhaps a “Racing” issue.
The question, Should mileage trenching be banned?? is opinion at this time since Zwift has not made an official comment.
By all means, feel free to state your thoughts on these forums (according to the guidelines). The guidelines for Zwift forums does state that this is not the place for accusations of cheating.

Just want to point out that @Chris_D9 has taken considerable care not to accuse specific people of anything. What you’re hearing is feedback about the product change which is the topic. People who don’t race can care about it as well.

This discussion about cheating is included under “any other factor”.
