I think it would be more appropriate to say that you will get the ability to upgrade the Zwift Concept (TRON), not purchase the Halo Concept.
Interesting question. If a race enforces a bike, will the folks who have upgraded that bike get the upgraded version and others will get the regular? Can the RD enforce a non-upgraded version of a bike?
If everyone is on the same bike, I donât know why it matters what bike gets enforced, upgrades aside. Put everyone on a random crappy gravel bike if you want more chances that no one has upgraded it.
Thereâs a way to neutralize all equipment (as done in ZG etc) but I donât know if that option is available to ordinary race organizers. It probably is I just donât have that information.
Are we sure the 600km+ bots I see daily on Ventop havenât done that?
Solution is to use a neutral bike with upgrade level 0 for all.
And to disband the teams doing the wrong thing and remove their custom kit. That will deter them.
Yes the organizer can request it from the events team. No problem getting that setting.
While it isnât technically a new frame, you still have to purchase the ability to upgrade it. It is in the halo category as an existing bike, while not being a ânewâ Halo bike in itself. And then you have to buy the upgrades and meet the criteria to upgrade that bike.
It still meets the criteria of purchasing a âhaloâ bike with the three fully-upgraded frame prerequisite, but the difference is that Zwifters already have had to achieve the Everest Challenge to unlock it previously.
Itâs my understanding (unless the information I have is incorrect), that the upgrade option for Concept costs 10,000,000 drops, and then to fully upgrade the Concept will cost cumulative 10,000,000 more drops, and a lot of time.
The prerequisites to purchase the upgradable Concept feature are going to take me about 2.5 weeks to achieve since the Zwift bikes are (thankfully) entry-level. Fully upgrading the Concept is going to take much longer.
I plan to purchase the upgrade capability and then move on to unlock the other bikes before moving back onto the Concept frame (which I rarely rode anymore) in order to upgrade it.
That would run counter to the entire point of this upgrade system which is to drive engagement. âGrind for countless hours as we go into summer season to upgrade your bike but oh by the way you can only use it in non-competitive rides so itâs completely pointlessâ is not going to get them a lot of traction
Is the performance increase really significant enough to justify all the banter?
Iâm just going to upgrade my SL 8 and be done with it
My only question will be 454âs or 7.8âs.
Few people here realize the cruelty in this lol
(ZHQ said theyâre not interested in introducing clubâs jerseys anymore, even if you have multiple weekly community events with supporting numbers week after week, years down the road).
ZMonthly races Iâm fine with the upgrade system remaining live.
ZGames it seems to be a choice to be neutralized.
Academy races, of course should also be neutralized.
As far as anything else goes, it just needs to be an option for hosts to be able to fully enforce neutral equipment (and it needs to be more obvious in-game when it is enabled).
All the racing I did prior to level 42 or whatever, back when, while it was fun and encouraging to ride a little more to unlock the next best thing, I never felt as though it was the reason why I âlostâ [didnât win] a race.
And if it were⌠it was always the best excuse
I donât see it as a major concern nor should anyone else in the monthly etc. races, not with ZRS in the mix. At the end of the day, itâs genuinely not significantly difference than a new user hopping in with low level equipment⌠is the gap greater? Sure, but for the general population, I doubt someone in âCat Câ is going to continuously place lowly because theyâre racing against a long time user with a fully upgraded SL8.
No, theyâll probably lose due to unfamiliarity in tactics, timing, etc.
Upgrade abuse though needs to be stamped out however. It is very evident it wasnât considered compared to the Electric Socks mission (which can still be done, but⌠with far more difficulty and effort for the average user at least).
Honestly, if people are actively pedalling they are orders of magnitude ahead of a lot even if they are banding rides
There is no bot needed for that. What they did on Ven Top what you saw is juts logging into the game, no need to pair anything, thats why you saw zpower, and teleport up, and go down.
So follow up to this; the Elite race today were forced on Concept bikes.
FRR tomorrow is also forced instead from the Carbon Aero, to the Concept Z1 as well.
I suspect Zwift will just have to introduce a âneutralâ frame that you canât buy to fix this issue.
And honestly; a âConcept Liteâ for a neutral frame would look nice. I thought the Elite race today with everyone on colored trons (color matched to the teams for the most part), looked good.
This is more because the âNeutralizeâ function is not working as intended right now. They can just fix it.
A slow step-through commuter bike would be fun for them to race.
Not on facebook, is there a relevant discussion happening over there? If so, share screenshots please.
Bunch of posts about riders teleporting to the top of the Alp in order to get free miles riding down.
Numerous posts over there. Make a burner account if you care to see it.
I donât
I said ârelevantâ information
Instead of calling out 1 person at a time on facebook and then have hundreds of posts about how âitâs only a gameâ and âracing doesnât matterâ.
