The live setting does not change and remains default but i can still change other events settings. Maybe only certain things are effected
TBH I’ve only tried to change the LIVE to “Enable” so far. Looks like a widespread issue. I’ve reported to ZwiftPower & await a response.
Can confirm LIVE is working if Enabled. We run a race (AHDR The Chop) & the LIVE is “Default” which as it’s a race is effectively “Enabled”. LIVE worked fine.
So the issue is the inability for Event Organisers to change things in the event on ZwiftPower. They can be changed, but not saved. No reply from the ZwiftPower Team yet.
ZwiftPower Team replied & LIVE is staying Enabled now.
I’m seeing missing live data numbers for the Fondo I rode on both Dec 31 2021 and Feb 5 2022. Looks like a number of riders are missing data – all are marked as live data. Those that do have data all show the blue fit file data lightning bolt.
Is this still a known issue? Being worked on? Is there a way to manually upload a fit file?
I don’t think this is an “issue”.

If a rider doesn’t set the activity to “public” when they save it, it will never go to ZwiftPower. I believe this is stated in one of the screens you go through while setting up your ZwiftPower account.

You can’t manually upload a .fit file to ZwiftPower. They are easily fabricated or manipulated.
Take a look at:
You’ll see average power/time reported for everyone on the list, but a few gaps for 20min, 5min, etc.
In all cases, those say the data source was live data.
I have quite a few results under my name. The vast majority show complete data. So this is not a matter of ZP not having access to my profile. The Fondos for Jan and Feb are the notable exceptions to the complete data tables.
Easiest way to confirm if the data is complete or not is to look at the power curve for each event. Here is your last ZHR event (below) - the flat line confirms that ZP is using incomplete/live data because of your privacy settings. Whether it shows some data or none is irrelevant. In the event you highlighted, none of those people have privacy open (check their Companion App entries).
And here is your ZP power curve - that tells me that all your events are private…
So, If I’m understanding correctly, ZP grabs a fit file from Zwift or strata, but also ingests live data during the event and we can expect the live data to be less than complete?
In most of my events, the data was complete enough to fill in the columns, but in those two, there was sufficient data loss to prevent that? Or longer events just don’t keep enough live data to be used in that way? When I look at that power curve, it just confirms what I know – I have NO sprint!
Attaching a screen shot that shows what I’m seeing, I’ll go look at privacy settings again. I thought I’d given ZP full access when I set it up.
Yes - you can use the Live tab to monitor events in semi-realtime which is where ZP gets that incomplete data that you see.
Because those large events are setup as group rides, not races, the live data is not used hence the gaps you see (I’m guessing at this).
haha - join the club! Though if that were true then at least two of those events (4th and 3rd Feb) would have 15sec times above the green line.
Thanks. My naive assumptions were clearly way off base.
- I thought live data would be preferred and fit files would be secondary – probably the fact that I usually saw the table fill in from live data first made me think this was correct.
- I thought that permissions would either allow ZP to ingest data or prevent it. Clearly reality is somewhere in between.
I did find that I had activity visibility set to followers rather than public. Though again, my assumption would have been that ZP counted as a “follower” given that I had followed the steps necessary to connect the accounts.
