Meetup keep together suspension for sprint/KOM segments

Our club are loving the meet-ups and the keep together function works really well as without it there is too much time spent trying to regroup.

However, like most clubs we like to have a few race segments to get the competitive juices flowing, before regrouping to continue the ride.

To this end it would be great to have an option to make the Zwift sprints/KOM segments raceable in “keep together” meet-ups. This would need for the banding feature to be turned off from the start line and reinstated afterwards.

This would give clubs the best of both worlds and greatly enhance the app’s attractiveness.

During our meetup today, March 11, 2025, we had the same discussion. We would like to toggle the KeepTogether feature Off/On during our sprints and KOM. How can we get traction on possibly adding this feature to Zwift?
Best regards

Hi @Ben_Thomson and @Dave_Wolfson Welcome to the forums! I’m Francisco from Zwift Support.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts—it’s always exciting to see clubs finding creative ways to make the most of meet-ups. I’ve moved this thread to the Feature Requests section since your suggestion fits perfectly there.

Your idea of temporarily turning off banding for sprints or KOM segments during “Keep Together” meet-ups is really interesting! It sounds like a great way to inject some friendly competition into group rides, while still keeping things cohesive for the rest of the ride.

I’ve passed this on to our dev team for consideration. It’s awesome to see how clubs are bringing new perspectives to group features, and we always value ideas from the community. The more attention an idea receives, the higher the chance it’ll be implemented.

Ride On.

Awesome!
Yes, our Tuesday weekly Meetup is amazing. All the old guys from the San Diego racing team(s) -
we used to all ride together 20 years ago, but as time passes, things happen.
Some of us cannot do the pace we used to. So we use the KeepTogether feature so our more injured, and/or slower guys can still have fun.
But SPRINTS - for some crazy reason, sprinting because a “thing” and if you put a paper cup in the road, these guys would sprint for it.
So it would be super to disable the KeepTogether for the sprint zones. In fact, we make up our own, especially the long bridge in RGV…

Thanks for making Zwift so much fun, and safe, and Team San Diego is having a great time on it.
