Live Data from zwift

Is there any way to access zwift data live.  For example speed, grade, power.  

I thought it would be a fun project to turn my dumb trainer into a smart trainer.  I have figured out the variable resistance now I just need a way to access the grade data live.   Also this opens it up for users to make their own fun devices.  For example fans that change with speed or changing the angle of your trainer based on grade

In the most recent zwiftcast.com session Eric Minn mentioned that an API is in the plans.  I don’t know any more than this, but presumably it would permit these sort of things.

that would be great.  I can not wait to play with the data and see what crazy thing people come up with.
